2DTV
''2DTV'' is a British satirical animated television series which was co-created and produced by Giles Pilbrow for ITV. It premiered on ITV1 on 14 October 2001 and was nominated for the Rose d'Or Award in both 2002 and 2003. The programme was considered the spiritual successor of ''Spitting Image'', a 1980s series that also featured work by Pilbrow. The show's style also paid homage to the animation studio Hanna-Barbera. The voice cast included Jon Culshaw, Jan Ravens and Mark Perry. ''2DTV'' ran for five series before being cancelled in 2004 due to falling viewing figures. It was succeeded in 2008 by the short-lived series ''Headcases''. Background ''2DTV'' employed the same satirical style as ''Spitting Image'' but used animation rather than puppets. The animation was produced using computer graphics, frequently with animators working up to the day of broadcast. TVOkids (short for TVOntariokids and stylized as tvokids) is the brand for most of the children's programming aired by TVOntario (TVO) in Canada. It was launched on April 1, 1994 and runs from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. daily. The brand also operates two 24-hour online live streams, one which features regular TVOkids programming (which is simulcast from broadcast television during operating hours), and another dedicated to its original series ''PAW Patrol''. Teletoon (stylized as TELETOON) is a Canadian English-language specialty channel owned by Teletoon Canada, Inc., a subsidiary of Corus Entertainment. Its name is a portmanteau of "television" and " cartoon". The channel primarily broadcasts animated series aimed at children and teenagers. It was launched on October 17, 1997 by a consortium of Western International Communications, Astral Media, Shaw Communications, Cinar and Nelvana. Later on, Astral Media acquired WIC's shares of Teletoon in 2000 while Shaw spun off its media assets to form Corus Entertainment who acquired Nelvana that same year.
