An air operator's certificate (AOC) is the approval granted by a civil aviation authority (CAA) to an aircraft operator to allow it to use aircraft for commercial purposes. This requires the operator to have personnel, assets, and system in place to ensure the safety of its employees, and the general public. The certificate will list the aircraft types, and registrations to be used, for what purpose and in what area – specific airports or geographic region. Airlines use aircraft to supply these services and may form partnerships or alliances with other airlines for codeshare agreements, in which they both offer and operate the same flight. Generally, airline companies are recognized with an air operating certificate or license issued by a governmental aviation body. Airlines may be scheduled or charter operators. The first airline was the German airship company DELAG, founded on November 16, 1909. Wayraperú
Wayraperú is a Peruvian airline based at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima Peru, that operated between March and November 2006, then again since May 2018. In January 2018 the carrier announced the intention to recommence services. Currently, Wayraperú only offers charter services. History Early operations At the end of 2004, the news of the creation of an airline was announced to the media. Wayraperú was the result of the joint venture between the Brazilian company OceanAir and Fondo de Inversiones Sustentables, run by entrepreneur Pedro Koechlin. At its peak the airline operated to 14 destinations, with three Fokker 100s for American Airlines. On March 20, 2006, it formally began operations, inaugurating from Lima to Arequipa. Viva Air Perú S.A.C. is a Peruvian ultra low-cost carrier. It was created by Irelandia Aviation, which also developed similar carriers Viva Air Colombia and Mexico's VivaAerobús, the latter of which has no legal affiliation with the other "Viva" brands.
