Cinema Of Andhra Pradesh
Telugu cinema, also known as Tollywood, is the segment of Indian cinema dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Telugu language, widely spoken in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Telugu cinema is based in Film Nagar, Hyderabad, India. The nickname ''Tollywood'' is a portmanteau of the words Telugu and Hollywood. By 2021, it has emerged as the largest film industry in India in terms of box-office. Since 1909, filmmaker Raghupathi Venkaiah Naidu was involved in producing short films and travelling to different regions in Asia to promote film work. In 1921, he produced the silent film, '' Bhishma Pratigna'', generally considered to be the first Telugu feature film, and hence, regarded as the ''Father of Telugu cinema''. Rati Agnihotri
Rati Agnihotri (born 10 December 1960) is an Indian actress, known for acting in Hindi, as well as in Telugu and Tamil language films. Her roles in the cult-tragedy film ''Ek Duuje Ke Liye'' (1981) and the drama film ''Tawaif'' (1985) earned her two nominations for the Filmfare Award for Best Actress. Early life Agnihotri was born on 10 December 1960 in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, in a Brahmin family. Film career She began modelling at the age of ten. Agnihotri's first film roles were in the Tamil language films ''Puthiya Vaarpugal'' and ''Niram Maaratha Pookkal'' (1979). In the 1980s, she also starred in a number of Hindi films. She received a Filmfare nomination as Best Actress for the 1981 film ''Ek Duuje Ke Liye'', which was a Hindi remake of the Telugu film ''Maro Charitra'' from 1979. Kaliyuga Ramudu
''Kaliyuga Ramudu'' is a 1982 Indian Telugu-language action film, produced by D. Srirangaraju under the Tirupati Productions banner and directed by K. Bapaiah. It stars N. T. Rama Rao, Rati Agnihotri and music composed by K. V. Mahadevan. Plot Ramu (NTR) is a CBI officer who comes to investigate a case. Sandhya (Rati Agnihotri) is a daughter of a scientist who invents a formula. Ranjeet (Satyanarayana) kidnaps the scientists and blackmails Sandhya, thereafter uses Sandhya for his own needs, sending her to gather information about Ramu. ''Iruvar'' () is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language epic political drama film co-written, produced and directed by Mani Ratnam. The film, inspired by the lives of M. Karunanidhi, M. G. Ramachandran and J. Jayalalithaa is set against the backdrop of cinema and politics in Tamil Nadu. It stars an ensemble cast including Mohanlal, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Rai, Revathi, Gautami, Tabu and Nassar. Rai, who was crowned Miss World 1994, made her screen debut through the film, playing dual characters. The high-budget film had its original soundtrack composed by A. R. Haryanvi ( ' or '), also known as Bangru, is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the state of Haryana in India, and to a lesser extent in Delhi. Leelavathi (born Leela Kiran) is an Indian actress who worked in Kannada, Tamil and Telugu films. She has acted in more than 600 films (more than 400 in Kannada alone) throughout her career for more than 50 years. She is known for her memorable performances in '' Bhakta Kumbara'' , ''Mana Mecchida Madadi'' and ''Santha Thukaram''. Gummadi (actor)
Gummadi Venkateswara Rao (9 July 1927 – 26 January 2010), known Mononym, mononymously by his surname Gummadi, was an Indian actor and producer, who worked predominantly in Telugu cinema and a few Tamil films. Known as one of the finest method acting, method actors, Gummadi starred in around five hundred feature films. He received critical recognition for his work in ''Thodu Dongalu (1954 film), Thodu Dongalu'' (1954) and ''Mahamantri Timmarusu (film), Mahamantri Timmarusu'' (1962), for which he has received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Award.
