Marvel Comics
Marvel Comics is an American comic book publishing, publisher and the flagship property of Marvel Entertainment, a divsion of The Walt Disney Company since September 1, 2009. Todd McFarlane
Todd McFarlane (; born March 16, 1961) is a Canadian comic book creator, artist, writer, filmmaker and entrepreneur, best known for his work as the artist on ''The Amazing Spider-Man'' and as the creator, writer, and artist on the superhero horror-fantasy series ''Spawn (comics), Spawn.'' In the late 1980s and early 1990s, McFarlane became a comic book superstar due to his work on Marvel Comics' ''Spider-Man'' franchise, on which he was the artist to draw the first full appearances of the character Venom (Marvel Comics character), Venom. In 1992, he helped form Image Comics, pulling the occult anti-hero character Spawn (comics), Spawn from his high school portfolio and updating him for the 1990s. is a manga by Yamanaka Akira. It ran in the Children's manga, children's magazine, ''Comic BomBom'', from November 9, 2004 to May 11, 2005. The manga is not connected to Ryoichi Ikegami's ''Spider-Man: The Manga''. Plot In the year 200X, a supervillain who goes by the name Lord Gokibu wants to steal the fossil of the Insect King, 15 year-old Sho Amano uses his new spider powers to become Spider-Man J, to prevent this from happening. ''Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man'' is a comic book series that was published by Marvel Comics. The title is derived from a trademark self-referential comment often made by Spider-Man (as in "just another service provided by your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man!"). The first series began in October 2005 and was primarily written by Peter David. ''Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man'' was canceled after issue #24, part 2 of J. Marvel Knights is an imprint of Marvel Comics that contained standalone material taking place inside the Marvel Universe ( Earth-616). Vertigo Comics, also known as DC Vertigo or simply Vertigo, was an imprint of American comic book publisher DC Comics started by editor Karen Berger in 1993. Alternative comics cover a range of American comics that have appeared since the 1980s, following the underground comix movement of the late 1960s and early 1970s. ''Spider-Man's Tangled Web'' is a comic book series starring Spider-Man and his supporting cast published by Marvel Comics for 22 issues from June 2001 to March 2003. Overview The title was conceived as an anthology series, where various creative teams not usually associated with Spider-Man (usually creators who had previously worked for alternative or Vertigo comics) could display their take on the character. Despite having his name in the title, Spider-Man was often an ancillary character in these stories, appearing on only a few pages or just making a cameo appearance.
