The year of induction into the College Football Hall of Fame, if applicable, is designated alongside the respective player's final season. The quarterback (commonly abbreviated "QB"), colloquially known as the "signal caller", is a position in gridiron football. Quarterbacks are members of the offensive platoon and mostly line up directly behind the offensive line. Brady Quinn
Brayden Tyler "Brady" Quinn (born October 27, 1984) is an American former football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for seven seasons. He played college football at Notre Dame, where he won the Maxwell Award, and was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Following three seasons in Cleveland, he was traded to Denver, where he was a Bronco for two seasons. Quinn spent his last three seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets, and St. Louis Rams for one year each. Tony Rice (American Football)
Tony Rice (born September 5, 1967) is an American former professional football player who was a quarterback in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and World League of American Football. Rice is perhaps best remembered as the dynamic option quarterback of the University of Notre Dame's 1988 National Championship Team under coach Lou Holtz. Rice played professional football for three seasons for the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Barcelona Dragons of the World League from 1990 to 1992. He also played for Munich Thunder in the FLE (Football League of Europe) in 1994. Rick Mirer
Richard Franklin Mirer (born March 19, 1970) is a former American football quarterback who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 12 seasons. He played college football at Notre Dame and was selected second overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1993 NFL Draft. In his first season, Mirer set the rookie records for passing yards, attempts, and completions. Unable to duplicate his success, however, Mirer was traded after four seasons to the Chicago Bears. He spent the remainder of his career with the New York Jets, San Francisco 49ers, Oakland Raiders, and Detroit Lions, mostly as a backup. Mirer is considered one of the biggest busts in NFL history. Kevin McDougal
Kevin T. McDougal (born May 29, 1972) is best known as the starting quarterback for the University of Notre Dame football team who narrowly missed winning the national championship in 1993. He is currently a real estate investor in South Florida. Professional McDougal signed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Rams in 1994, but did not make the final roster. He played for the London Monarchs of the World League of American Football in 1995, then spent two seasons with the Canadian Football League's Winnipeg Blue Bombers. In 1998, he joined the Milwaukee Mustangs of the Arena Football League, backing up Todd Hammel for two years before becoming the starter in 2000. Paul J. Failla (born December 8, 1972) is a former American football and baseball player and coach. College career Failla was recruited out of North Allegheny Senior High School in Wexford, Pennsylvania by the University of Notre Dame, where he was a two-sport athlete, playing shortstop for the baseball team, and backing up starting quarterbacks Rick Mirer and Kevin McDougal on the football team for three years, from 1991–1993. Jarious K. Jackson (born May 3, 1977) is a professional Canadian football pass game coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Edmonton Elks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). He has also been a coach for the Toronto Argonauts, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and BC Lions. Arnaz Jerome Battle (born February 22, 1980) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round of the 2003 NFL Draft. Matthew Lawrence LoVecchio (born February 2, 1982) was a starting quarterback for the University of Notre Dame football team in 2000–01, and for Indiana University in 2003–04. Early years LoVecchio grew up in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. Patrick Martin Dillingham (born August 16, 1983) is a former American football quarterback who played for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Early years Dillingham attended St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California. As a senior, he threw for 1,505 yards with 11 touchdowns. College career After not seeing any game action as a freshman in 2001, Pat played in seven games and started against Stanford during his Sophomore year. Carlyle Javar Holiday (born October 4, 1981) is a former American football wide receiver. High school Carlyle attended Roosevelt High School in San Antonio, Texas. As a high school standout in football, basketball and baseball, he was named as the top high school scrambling quarterback in the nation. After a heavy bid from Nebraska, he eventually committed to the University of Notre Dame. College career After redshirting as a freshman, Holiday went on to start 24 games at quarterback, leading the team to the 2003 Gator Bowl vs Philip Rivers and NC State in his final full season at quarterback.
