List Of National Women's Soccer League Draftees By College Team
The following is a list of National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) draftees by college soccer team. Composed of four rounds, the NWSL Draft is a mechanism by which NWSL franchises are able to select college soccer, college athletes from the National Collegiate Athletic Association, NCAA and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, NAIA who are in their senior season in college or have exhausted their collegiate eligibility. As of the 2023 NWSL Draft, there have been 434 players from 96 different schools selected since the inception of the NWSL Draft (formerly called the NWSL College Draft) in 2013. The UCLA Bruins women's soccer, UCLA Bruins hold the all-time record for most players drafted with 22 players. 25 schools have had only one player selected. National Women's Soccer League
The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) is a professional women's soccer league at the top of the United States league system. It is owned by the teams and, until 2020, was under a management contract with the United States Soccer Federation. The NWSL was established in 2012 as the successor to Women's Professional Soccer (WPS; 2007–2012), which was itself the successor to Women's United Soccer Association (2001–2003). North Carolina Courage
The North Carolina Courage is a professional women's soccer team based in Cary, North Carolina. It was founded on January 9, 2017, after Stephen Malik acquired National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchise rights from the Western New York Flash. The Courage is affiliated with the men's team North Carolina FC of the United Soccer League and plays its home games at the Sahlen’s Stadium at WakeMed Soccer Park. The 2020 NWSL College Draft was the eighth annual meeting of National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) franchises to select newly eligible college players for the 2020 NWSL season. Chicago Red Stars
The Chicago Red Stars are a professional women's soccer club based in Bridgeview, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. A founding member of the Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) league, they have played in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) since 2013. WPS was the NWSL's predecessor as the professional women's soccer league in the United States, and the Red Stars played in the WPS in 2009 and 2010. The Portland Thorns FC is an American professional women's soccer team based in Portland, Oregon. Established in 2012, the team began play in 2013 in the then-eight-team National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), which receives support from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
