Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards
The Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards are presented annually to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Burmese Film Industry of Myanmar. The awards ceremony has been held annually since 1952. Each winner is presented with a golden statue and in recent years also a cash prize. History The awards were first introduced in 1952, and the ceremony has been held annually since 1952 (apart from 1963, 1986, 1987, and 1988). In the first awards ceremony, only three kinds of awards (Best Film, Best Actor and Best Actress) were presented. In the beginning, second and third place prizes for Best Film category were also given. Over time the awards ceremony has expanded significantly; in 1954, a Best Director award was introduced with the second and third place prizes for Best Film being removed in 1955. Kyauk Lone
Kyauk Lone ( my, ကျောက်လုံး; ; also spelt as Kyauk Lon) was three-time Myanmar Academy Award-winning Burmese actor. He was the first recipient of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award in the Burmese film industry. He won his first Myanmar Academy Award in 1962 with the film ''Ah Twae'' (), achieved his second award in 1964 with the film ''Yinwae Ta Theint Theint'' () and the third award in 1965 with the film ''Chit Thamee'' (). Tin Tin Nwet ( my, တင်တင်နွဲ့; 9 December 1944 – 10 November 2015) was a Burmese actress. She won Best Actress Award in the 1970 Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards. ''Kawleikgyin'' Ne Win ( my, ကောလိပ်ဂျင်နေဝင်း, ; 1 October 1928 – 2 June 1983) was a two-time Burmese Academy Award winning Burmese film actor and director. Early life Ne Win was born in Hinthada (Henzada), Ayeyarwady Division, the son of Daw Tin, a teacher, and U Thet Pe, a police officer. Born Ne Win, he was given his famous moniker after his successful debut film, ''Kawleikgyin'' (The Collegian), so as not to be confused with the late Burmese dictator with the same name, Gen. Ne Win. After graduating from Coming High School in Hinthada, Ne Win enlisted in the Burmese Navy in 1946. He left the navy in 1951 to enroll in Rangoon University. Khin Than Nu
Khin is a classical membranophone used in Newar music. Khin are played in pair putting on lap by the players facing each other. A Khin is made of a hollow wooden trunk with membrane covering both sides. The right side is covered with cow skin Cattle (''Bos taurus'') are large, domesticated, cloven-hooved, herbivores. Win Oo ( my, ဝင်းဦး; , 13 March 1935 – 14 December 1988) was a two-time Myanmar Motion Picture Academy Awards winning Burmese actor, singer, director, writer and publisher. He became publicly known for his acting, singing and directing. Win was considered one of the most important actors in history of Burmese cinema. He died of colorectal cancer in 1988.
