List Of Montserrat Twenty20 Players
From their first match in 2006 to their final match in 2008, fourteen players represented the Montserrat cricket team in Twenty20 (T20) matches in the Stanford 20/20. A Twenty20 is a cricket match between two representative teams of one twenty over (cricket), over innings per side. Montserrat has fielded a representative team as early as 1912. In regional domestic cricket, Montserrat plays as part of the Leeward Islands cricket team, which holds first-class cricket, first-class, List A cricket, List A (neither of which Montserrat has ever held) and Twenty20 status. Montserrat Cricket Team
The Montserrat cricket team has represented the British Overseas Territory of Montserrat in cricket. The team is not a member of the International Cricket Council, but the Montserrat Cricket Association is a member of the Leeward Islands Cricket Association, which itself is a member association of the West Indies Cricket Board, and players from Montserrat generally represent the Leeward Islands cricket team at domestic level and the West Indies at international level. Montserrat has however played as a separate entity in matches which held Twenty20 status, but has not appeared in first-class or List A cricket. Barbados National Cricket Team
The Barbados national cricket team is the national cricket team of Barbados, organised by the Barbados Cricket Association (BCA). Barbados is a member of the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB), which is a member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in its own right, and Barbadians play internationally for the West Indies cricket team. Wicket-keeper
The wicket-keeper in the sport of cricket is the player on the fielding side who stands behind the wicket or stumps being watchful of the batsman and ready to take a catch, stump the batsman out and run out a batsman when occasion arises. David Steadmond Lane (born 12 May 1965) is a former West Indian cricketer. Lane was a right-handed batsman who fielded as a wicket-keeper. He was born on Montserrat. In 2006, Montserrat were invited to take part in the 2006 Stanford 20/20, whose matches held official Twenty20 status. Lane made his Twenty20 debut for Montserrat in their first-round match against Guyana, with their first-class opponents winning the match by 8 wickets. Lane scored 6 runs in Montserrat's innings, before he was run out by the combination of Neil McGarrell and Mahendra Nagamootoo. Davon Williams
Davon Alphonso Williams (born 27 May 1972) is a Montserratian former cricketer who played for the Leeward Islands in West Indian domestic cricket. He played as a right-handed batsman. Williams appeared at Under-19 level for the Leeward Islands in the 1988–89 season, making a total of three appearances for the team. In 1990, he made a single appearance for Leeward Islands Young Cricketes against Australia Young Cricketers. He later made his first-class debut for the Leeward Islands against Jamaica in the 2000–01 Busta Cup. He made two further first-class appearances in that seasons tournament, against the Windward Islands and Barbados. He scored 138 runs in his three matches, at an average of 27.60, with a high score of 48. Lionel Sionne Baker (born 6 September 1984) is a West Indian former cricketer who has played first-class cricket for the Leeward Islands. He is the first person from Montserrat to have represented the West Indies at Test cricket. Personal life Although he was born in Montserrat, Lionel Baker spent several years living in London and attended school there. Retrieved on 12 November 2008. McPherson Meade (born 16 February 1979) is a West Indian cricketer. Meade is a right-handed batsman who bowls right-arm off break. He also plays football for the Montserrat football team as a goalkeeper. He was born on Montserrat. Meade appeared at Under-19 level for the Leeward Islands in 1997 and 1998, making a total of eight appearances for the team. Starting in 2004, Meade played club cricket in England for Chingford Cricket Club. Jaron Trevor Semper (born 7 June 1970) is a former West Indian cricketer. Semper was a right-handed batsman who bowled both right-arm off break and right-arm medium pace. He was born on Montserrat. In 2003, Semper played club cricket in England for Harlow Cricket Club, while in 2005 he played for Woodford Wells Cricket Club. Stanford Cricket Ground
The Coolidge Cricket Ground is a cricket ground in Osbourn, Saint George Parish, Antigua. It was previously known as the Airport Cricket Ground, before it was taken over by American businessman and cricket enthusiast Allen Stanford, rebuilt in 2004 and named the Stanford Cricket Ground. It was used as one of the many home grounds of the Leeward Islands and also hosted many Twenty20 matches, including both the 2006 & 2008 Stanford 20/20 tournaments and the 2008 Stanford Super Series. Stanford was convicted of fraud and multiple violations of US securities laws on 6 March 2012 and sentenced to 110 years in prison, and the stadium's name was changed to the Coolidge Cricket Ground in 2016-17 and it resumed staging cricket matches after an eight-year hiatus. Windward Islands Cricket Team
The Windward Islands cricket team is a cricket team representing the member countries of the Windward Islands Cricket Board of Control. The team plays in the West Indies Professional Cricket League (including the NAGICO Regional Super50) under the franchise name Windward Islands Volcanoes. It includes the islands that were known as the British Windward Islands except for Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago, who have their own teams.
