Kentucky High School Athletic Association
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) has been the governing body of the U.S. state of Kentucky high-school athletics since 1917. It is located in Lexington. Sports The organization sanctions competition in the following sports: *Boys' and girls': Basketball, Bowling, Cross-country, Golf, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, Track and field. *Boys only: Baseball, Football, Wrestling (girls are eligible to wrestle also). *Girls only: Fast pitch softball, Volleyball. Competitive bowling, bass fishing, and archery were sanctioned beginning in the 2011-2012 school year. Competition in girls' slow-pitch softball was discontinued after the 2006-07 academic year. Paducah Tilghman High School
Paducah Tilghman High School is a public secondary school in Paducah, Kentucky. It is the only high school in the Paducah Independent School District. History The school opened at its first location in 1900, and was named Paducah High School, and was a segregated school for white students. In 1921, the school moved to a location on Jetton Boulevard, and the original building became the location for Washington Junior High School. That first building has since been demolished. The new school on Jetton Boulevard was named Augusta Tilghman High School in honor of Augusta Tilghman, whose sons donated $20,000 for the school's construction. Augusta Tilghman was the wife of Lloyd Tilghman, a Confederate States Army general and Paducah native who died in the Battle of Vicksburg. The building also housed Walter C. Paintsville High School
Paintsville High School is a secondary-level school located in Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky and is part of the Paintsville Independent School District. Its student enrollment as of 2015–16 school year was 224 in grades 7 through 12. The average student to teacher ratio in classes at Paintsville High School is 14:1. History The Paintsville Independent School system was organized in 1889 originally as the Paintsville Free Graded School. In 1892, the first building of Paintsville High School was built. It was ravaged by fire shortly thereafter, and was rebuilt. The early curriculum at Paintsville High was formidable. Belfry High School is a high school in Belfry, Kentucky, United States. The school is located in the northeastern region of Pike County, approximately 22 miles northeast of Pikeville, Kentucky and 1 mile south of Williamson, West Virginia. The school moved from Belfry in 2005 to a new site 3 miles north near the West Virginia border in Goody, Kentucky. The school is one of five public high schools in the Pike County Public School System and one of six public high schools in Pike County. History Belfry High School was established in 1923 and located along U.S. Route 119. South Warren High School, located in Bowling Green, in the U.S. state of Kentucky, is one of four high schools in the Warren County School System. The school opened on August 3, 2010. It is co-located in the same building complex as South Warren Middle School. Together they comprise the largest school facility in Kentucky. Pikeville High School
Pikeville High School (PHS) is located in Pikeville, Kentucky, United States. It enrolls approximately 560 students in grades 7-12. It is part of the Pikeville Independent Schools. History Campus Moving from a location closer to the downtown area of Pikeville, the current high school building was constructed in 1976. It consisted of classrooms, a library, a central two-story common area, and a gymnasium; dedicated and named after T.W. Oliver. In 1996, a large auditorium was added adjacent to the school on its eastern side. Capable of seating 1000, it was built to augment the building and provide space for performances by the arts and music departments, which previously had been relegated to performing in the gymnasium. Boyle County High School is a public high school located in Danville, Kentucky, United States. It serves nearly 900 students in grades 9–12. The school opened to students in the 1963–1964 school year. The school was created to merge the area's high school students into one school. Elizabethtown High School
Elizabethtown High School is located in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, United States. A part of Elizabethtown Independent Schools (EIS), it is commonly referred to as E'Town High School or EHS.
