GP2 Asia Series
The GP2 Asia Series was a form of open wheel motor racing as a result of a spin-off from the GP2 series. The series was officially announced during the weekend of the 2007 Monaco Grand Prix. GP2 series organiser Bruno Michel commented that "It is of great importance that the GP2 Asia Series maintains a strong and viable link to Formula One. Our inclusion as the support races on the programme of Asian Grands Prix in 2008 is an essential key in this new venture". The first season ran during the main GP2 series off season, January–April, with five two-race meetings. It ran alongside the new Speedcar Series, and the events in Malaysia and Bahrain acted as support races for the Formula One championship. In effort to promote motor racing in Asia, each team is encouraged to have at least one driver whose passport does not come from Western Europe or the Americas (North and South). Mika Mäki
Mika Mäki (born February 27, 1988) is a Finnish former racing driver. Career Mika started in karting, and competed for five years before heading to Germany and its Formula BMW ADAC series in 2005, finishing fourth in the Rookie Cup, and took his first victory at the Norisring. He moved to the Eifelland Racing Team for the 2006 season, finishing as runner-up with nine podiums. In 2007 Mäki got a seat in the Red Bull Junior Team. He was one of eighteen drivers selected for the programme of developing young talented drivers towards Formula One. During the season he won five rounds and gained the title of Italian Formula Renault Champion. For the 2008 season Mika signed with Mücke Motorsport to compete in the F3 Euroseries. He opened the season with a victory in Hockenheimring. He finished the season 5th in the results with two wins and 5 podiums. Andrea Caldarelli
Andrea Caldarelli (born 14 February 1990 in Pescara) is an Italian racing driver. He has competed in such series as Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, the Formula Three Euroseries, GP2 Asia, the GP3 Series and the Super Formula series. He undertook a Formula One test in 2008 with Toyota Racing and in 2010 with Ferrari. Career Super GT Caldarelli claimed his maiden victory in Super GT in 2014. Driving alongside Daisuke Itō for Lexus Team KeePer TOM'S, Caldarelli claimed victory in the opening race of the season at Okayama. The duo would finish the season second in the GT500-class championship to Tsugio Matsuda and Ronnie Quintarelli. Lamborghini factory driver Ahead of the 2017 Blancpain GT Series campaign, Caldarelli joined Lamborghini Squadra Corse's factory roster, taking part in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup campaign with GRT Grasser Racing Team.
