List Of Finnish Magazines
The first magazine in Finland, a Swedish-language women's magazine named ''Om Konsten at rätt behaga'', was published in 1782. The number of the Finnish magazines was about 1,200 in the 1980s. In the 1990s, the circulation of magazines increased, being 5.4 million copies in 1990 and 6.2 million copies in 1999. The number of magazines was 2,819 in 2001. Magazines accounted for 18% of the Finnish press market in 2007. There were 3,300 magazines in 2008, half of which were trade and business magazines. Total circulation of the magazines was 13.8 million in 2008. In 2009, 29 new magazines were launched. This is an incomplete list of magazines published in the country. Finland
Finland ( fi, Suomi ; sv, Finland ), officially the Republic of Finland (; ), is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. It shares land borders with Sweden to the northwest, Norway to the north, and Russia to the east, with the Gulf of Bothnia to the west and the Gulf of Finland across Estonia to the south. Alibi (magazine)
An alibi (from the Latin, '' alibī'', meaning "somewhere else") is a statement by a person, who is a possible perpetrator of a crime, of where they were at the time a particular offence was committed, which is somewhere other than where the crime took place. During a police investigation, all possible suspects are usually asked to provide details of their whereabouts during the relevant time period, which where possible would usually be confirmed by other persons or in other ways (such as by checking phone records, or credit card receipts, use of CCTV, etc.). During a criminal trial, an alibi is a defence raised by the accused as proof that they could not have committed the crime because they were in some other place at the time the alleged offence was committed. Tivi (magazine)
Tivi is a village and municipality in the Ordubad District of Nakhchivan, Azerbaijan. It is located in near the Ordubad-Bist highway, 60 km north-east of the district center. Its population works in gardening, farming, beekeeping and animal husbandry. There are a secondary school, library, club and a medical center in the village. It has a population of 1,347. The paradise of mountains, Tivi is rich with water resources. Here, there are the interesting monuments of the Bronze and ancient ages (the necropolis and settlement). ''Tilt'' was a Finnish video games magazine published 10 times a year by Yhtyneet kuvalehdet OY. In the Finnish gaming magazine scene ''Tilt'' was a newcomer, challenging mainly the well-established ''Pelit'' magazine with another newcomer, '' Pelaaja''. ''Tilt'' covered both PC and consoles. ''Tilt'' leveraged the brand of similarly named Finnish TV show hosted by Anna-Maija Jalkanen, although the magazine was targeted for a more mature audience. ''Tilt'' magazine lasted in the market for about a year. The publishing company pulled the plug and the magazine was quietly discontinued. Skrolli
''Skrolli'' is a Finnish computer magazine. It was founded in September 2012 and a sample issue was released shortly afterwards. The magazine has been issued quarterly since March 2013. In December 2015 a crowdfunding campaign for an international English language edition was launched; this ''Skrolli International Edition'' shipped in April 2016. While most famous in its native Finland, Skrolli has received international attention. For example in 2018, LucasArts alumni, game designer David Fox used a Skrolli magazine article about ''Rescue on Fractalus!'' as basis of a memoir thread on Twitter. In 2019, game designer Jeff Minter gave two presentations on Skrolli's stage at the Assembly demoparty. ''Pelit'' ("Games") is a Finnish video games magazine published in Helsinki, Finland. History ''Pelit'' dates back to 1987, as an annual extra games-only issue of '' MikroBitti'' and '' C-lehti''. Another annual issue was published in 1988, and in 1989 it became semi-annual (two times per year). In 1992, the staff of the semi-annual computer game book launched ''Pelit'' as a fully-fledged magazine. Its layout and contents have occasionally been revised over the years. Game walkthroughs were dropped as the adventure and old-fashioned role-playing games fell out of fashion. A comic, ''KyöPelit'', was started in 1993. ''Pelaaja'' ("Gamer") is a Finnish video games magazine published 11 times a year by H-Town. ''Pelaaja'' turned 15 years old in 2017. Pelaaja covers both PCs and consoles, although between 2003 and 2007 it focused only on consoles. During that time the PC coverage was in a separate magazine named ''PCPelaaja'', now defunct. Its editor-in-chief was Miika Huttunen, who is the current editor-in-chief of Pelaaja. History and profile ''Pelaaja'' was started by 2002. The longest running editor-in-chief of Pelaaja was Thomas Puha. Its current editor-in-chief is Miika Huttunen, a veteran of the Finnish electronic gaming scene and among the permanent staff is Janne Pyykkönen, who is also the editor-in-chief of H-Town's '' Pelaa!'' magazine.
