Lukas Heller
Lukas Heller (21 July 1930 – 2 November 1988) was a German-born screenwriter. Biography Heller was born to a Jewish family in Kiel. His father was political philosopher Hermann Heller. He was known for writing the screen adaptions for several Robert Aldrich films such as '' What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?'' (1962) and '' Hush...Hush, Sweet Charlotte'' (1964); for the later film he won an Edgar Award with Henry Farrell, who wrote the source text for both films. Heller was married to Caroline (née Carter) who was an English Quaker. They had four children: British writers Bruno and Zoë Heller, Lucy Heller, and Emily Heller. His half-sister was the Swedish journalist Cordelia Edvardson. He died on 2 November 1988 and was buried on the eastern side of Highgate Cemetery in London, England. Stephen Joshua Sondheim (; March 22, 1930November 26, 2021) was an American composer and lyricist. Ugo Pirro (April 20, 1920 – January 18, 2008) was an Italian screenwriter and novelist. Biography Born Ugo Mattone in Battipaglia, near Salerno, he debuted as screenwriter for director Carlo Lizzani (''Achtung! Banditi!'', 1951, and '' Il gobbo'', 1960). His screenplays of the 1970s include films ''Indagine su un cittadino al di sopra di ogni sospetto'' and '' Il giardino dei Finzi-Contini'', which both won Academy Awards as Best Foreign Film. Pirro was also a literature author, his most notable works being ''Le soldatesse'' (1956), set in the Italian occupation of Greece during World War II, and '' Celluloide'', adapted for cinema by Lizzani in 1996. ''Z'' is a 1969 Algerian political thriller film, directed by Costa-Gavras, with a screenplay by Gavras and Jorge Semprún, based on the 1966 novel of the same name by Vassilis Vassilikos. The film presents a thinly-fictionalized account of the events surrounding the assassination of the democratic Greek politician Grigoris Lambrakis in 1963. With its dark view of Greek politics and its downbeat ending, the film captures the director's outrage about the junta that then ruled Greece. The film stars Jean-Louis Trintignant as the investigating magistrate, an analogue of Christos Sartzetakis, who would be the Greek president from 1985 to 1990. Jorge Semprún Maura (; 10 December 1923 – 7 June 2011) was a Spanish writer and politician who lived in France most of his life and wrote primarily in French. From 1953 to 1962, during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco, Semprún lived clandestinely in Spain working as an organizer for the exiled Communist Party of Spain, but was expelled from the party in 1964. Alan Trustman (born December 16, 1930) is an American lawyer, screenwriter, pari-mutuel operator and currency trader. He is best known for writing the 1968 film, '' The Thomas Crown Affair'', ''Bullitt'', and ''They Call Me Mister Tibbs!'', in his movie career. Early years Trustman was born December 16, 1930, in Boston, Massachusetts. He attended the Boston Latin School, then The Phillips Exeter Academy where he was first in his 1948 class, and then graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1952 and Harvard Law School in 1955.
