Anneke Grönloh
Louise Johanna "Anneke" Grönloh (; 7 June 1942 – 14 September 2018) was an Indonesian-born Dutch singer. She had a successful career starting in 1959 that lasted throughout the 1960s, and scored a hit with " Brandend zand", one of the best-selling Dutch songs of all time. Early life Grönloh was born in Tondano, North Sulawesi, Dutch East Indies (present-day Indonesia), and spent her early years in the Japanese-occupied Dutch East Indies in a Japanese concentration camp. Her father, an officer of the Royal Netherlands East Indies Army (KNIL), had been interned before her birth. After the war, the family moved to the Netherlands, and Grönloh grew up in Eindhoven. Career During her time in secondary school, she met Peter Koelewijn with whom she began performing at parties. In 1959, her career took off after she won a talent show. Arno Menses
Arno Menses is a Dutch musician, lead vocalist for the progressive rock band Subsignal. Bonebag Menses, best known for being the lead vocalist of the bands Subsignal and Sieges Even, started out as a drummer for the band Bonebag, who released their debut "Noli me Tangere" in 2007. He played drums on all tracks and provided backup vocals on all songs on the album. Bonebag quickly disbanded following their tour to the album. Sieges Even Arno joined Sieges Even during their extensive hiatus in 2003. His first album with the band was The Art of Navigating by the Stars. The album was noted as a departure in sound from their previous two albums and incorporated a longer composition and more melody than before. Armand (singer)
Herman George van Loenhout (10 April 1946 – 19 November 2015), better known as Armand, was a Dutch protest singer. His most famous song is "Ben ik te min" ("Am I not good enough?"). Armand came to the forefront during the hippie generation and was well known as an advocate of cannabis. Biography His influences were Bob Dylan, Peter Seeger and Woody Guthrie. He started his musical career in the bands Splendour Boys, Shannon Boys and Les Gilets. He launched his first solo-record in 1965. "En nou ik" which flopped. His second single "En een van hen ben ik" made it to the "Tipparade". Then 3 months later, the B side ("Ben ik te min") began playing on the radio and became a national hit. Arjen Anthony Lucassen
Arjen Anthony Lucassen (born 3 April 1960) is a Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon. Lucassen started his career in 1980 as the guitarist and backing vocalist of Dutch band Bodine as Iron Anthony, before joining Vengeance in 1984. After eight years he left the band, wanting to go into a more progressive direction, and released two years later an unsuccessful solo album entitled '' Pools of Sorrow, Waves of Joy'' under the nickname Anthony. In 1995, Lucassen released an album uncredited to any artist called '' Ayreon: The Final Experiment'', in which he sang, wrote every song and played most of the instruments. Antonie Kamerling
Anthonie Willem Constantijn Gneomar "Antonie" Kamerling (25 August 1966 – 6 October 2010) was a Dutch actor and singer. He was member of the original cast of the Dutch soap opera ''Goede tijden, slechte tijden''. He played in the films ''The Little Blonde Death'' (1993), '' All Stars'' (1997), and '' I Love You Too'' (2001). He also had starring roles in Dutch musical productions. He has become the voice of Geoff from Total Drama in the Dutch version of the series. Antonie Kamerling committed suicide in 2010. Anton Van Rooy
Anton van Rooy (1 January 1870 – 28 November 1932) was a Dutch bass-baritone. He had a voice of enormous proportions and is most remembered for his association with the music dramas of Richard Wagner, especially the '' Ring Cycle'', '' The Mastersingers of Nuremberg'' and ''Parsifal''. Born in Rotterdam, van Rooy studied with the famous voice teacher Julius Stockhausen in Frankfurt. He made his operatic debut at the Bayreuth Festival in 1897, singing Wotan in ''Der Ring des Nibelungen''. The year 1898 saw his debuts in Berlin and at the Royal Opera House in London; and on 14 December that same year he sang for the first time at the Metropolitan Opera, New York City, as Wotan in ''Die Walküre''. Anton Sistermans
Anton Sistermans (5 August 18655 March 1926) was a Dutch baritone during the late 19th-early 20th century. He is particularly notable for interpretations of lieder and oratorios. During his career, Sistermans premiered important compositions by Johannes Brahms and Gustav Mahler, and also had lieder dedicated to him by Hans Pfitzner, Eugen d'Albert and Alexander von Zemlinsky. In his later years, Sistermans served as a teacher at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague and conductor of a church choir in Rotterdam. Anouk Schemmekes (, ; born 8 April 1975), professionally known by the mononym Anouk, is a Dutch singer and songwriter. After her 1997 breakthrough rock single '' Nobody's Wife'', she had hit records in the Dutch and Belgian charts. Annie Palmen (born Anna Maria Palmen; 19 August 1926 – 15 January 2000) was a Dutch singer, best known for her participation in the 1963 Eurovision Song Contest. Early career Palmen was born in IJmuiden. She started her career singing with dance orchestras around the city of Haarlem, then sang on various radio stations before her first hit record, "Ik zal je nooit meer vergeten", in 1958. Eurovision Song Contest In 1960, Palmen took part in the Dutch Eurovision selection, with the song "Wat een geluk" ("What luck"). In a somewhat odd selection process, each of eight songs was performed twice by different artists and a public vote chose the best song.
