Several characters made their debuts on ''Coronation Street'' in 1977, including Tracy Barlow, who appeared as a newborn infant and is still with the show as of 2022. Suzie Birchall Suzanne "Suzie" Goodwin (née Birchall) was played by actress Cheryl Murray from January 1977 to December 1979 and then again in 1983. Suzie was a cynical peroxide blonde teenager who was more interested in having fun than being responsible. She made fast friends with Gail Potter and shared a room with her at Elsie Tanner's house. Tracy Barlow
Tracy Lynette McDonald (also Barlow, Preston, Cropper and Langton) is a fictional character and a main antagonist from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''. She was born on-screen during the episode broadcast on 24 January 1977. She was played by Christabel Finch until 21 November 1983. Holly Chamarette played the role from 8 July 1985 until 23 March 1988. Dawn Acton played the role from 12 December 1988 to 14 June 1995. Acton reprised the role in November 1996, and departed in December 1997. She reprised the role once again on 14 March 1999 and made her final appearance as Tracy on 10 October 1999. Bethany Platt
Bethany Platt is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street''. She was born on-screen during the episode broadcast on 4 June 2000. She was played by Mia Cookson in 2000 and by twins Amy and Emily Walton from 2000 until 30 December 2007, when the character departed. The character was reintroduced with Lucy Fallon taking over the role, and Bethany made her return on 20 March 2015. On 2 May 2019, Fallon announced that she had quit the show. Leonard Franklin "Len" Fairclough is a fictional character from the British ITV soap opera ''Coronation Street'', portrayed by Peter Adamson between his introduction in 1961 and the character's axing in 1983. Storylines Len was from Liverpool, born on 5 November 1924. His parents were killed in the Blitz, after which Len joined the Merchant Navy. 1978 saw several characters making their debuts on the British Soap Opera ''Coronation Street'', including Ed Jackson, Ida Clough and Brian Tilsley, among others.
