Tennis
Tennis is a racket sport that is played either individually against a single opponent ( singles) or between two teams of two players each ( doubles). Each player uses a tennis racket that is strung with cord to strike a hollow rubber ball covered with felt over or around a net and into the opponent's court. The object of the game is to manoeuvre the ball in such a way that the opponent is not able to play a valid return. The player who is unable to return the ball validly will not gain a point, while the opposite player will. Tennis is an Olympic sport and is played at all levels of society and at all ages. Diego Cubas
Diego Cubas (born 14 March 1986) is a Brazilian former professional tennis player. Born in Joinville, Cubas was a number one junior in Brazil and represented the country in a 2004 Davis Cup tie against Venezuela in Caracas. He was beaten in the first singles rubber by Jimy Szymanski in four sets but won in the reverse singles against Jhonnatan Medina-Álvarez. During his time on the professional tour he won two ITF Futures titles, both in doubles. He also played collegiate tennis in the United States for the University of South Carolina. Nelson Ramón Cruz Martínez Jr. (born July 1, 1980) is a Dominican-American former professional baseball designated hitter and right fielder. Raony Carvalho
Raony Carvalho (born 10 April 1987), also known as Ray Carvalho, is a Brazilian former professional tennis player. Born in Brasília, Carvalho was ranked in the top 10 of the ITF junior rankings and made a Davis Cup appearance for Brazil as 17-year-old in 2004. He played the doubles rubber in a tie against Venezuela, which he and partner Caio Zampieri lost to Kepler Orellana and Jimy Szymanski. Ronaldo Carvalho (born 28 February 1979) is a Brazilian former professional tennis player. Carvalho, a native of Goiás, reached a best singles world ranking of 362 and won two ITF Futures titles. In 2004, he represented Brazil in a Davis Cup tie against Peru in Brasília, losing his singles rubber to Ivan Miranda in five sets. Márcio Carlsson (born 24 January 1975) is a former professional tennis player from Brazil. Career Carlsson was a member of the Brazilian team which won the Sunshine Cup in 1993, which was their first title since 1958. He and Gustavo Kuerten won the deciding doubles rubber over the Chilean pairing of Marcelo Rios and Robinson Gamonal. Earlier in the year, Carlsson had partnered Rios in the 1993 French Open, French Open boys' doubles event and the pair made the semi-finals. This helped Carlsson finish the season ranked sixth in the world junior doubles rankings. His usual junior doubles teammate however was Kuerten and the pair would also partner each other at ATP Challenger Series, Challenger tournaments in 1994 and 1995. Dácio Campos (born 18 December 1963) is a former professional tennis player from Brazil, and TV commentator. Career Campos played collegiate tennis in the United States, for the University of Houston. In 1985 he appeared in three Davis Cup ties for Brazil, against Venezuela, Colombia and Mexico. He won four rubbers, three in singles and one in doubles. At the 1985 French Open, Campos played eighth seed Eliot Teltscher in the first round and lost in straight sets. It would be his only Grand Slam singles match. He did however appear in the men's doubles at nine Grand Slam tournaments.
