Cinema Of Bangladesh
The Bangladeshi Cinema, better known as Dhallywood ( bn, ঢালিউড), is the Bengali-language film industry based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. It has often been a significant film industry since the early 1970s. The dominant style of Bangladeshi cinema is melodramatic cinema, which developed from 1947 to 1990 and characterizes most films to this day. Cinema was introduced in Bangladesh in 1898 by the Bradford Bioscope Company, credited to have arranged the first film release in Bangladesh. Between 1913 and 1914, the first production company, Picture House, was opened. A 1928 short silent film titled ''Sukumari'' () was the first Bengali-produced film in the region. The first full-length film, ''The Last Kiss (1931 film), The Last Kiss'', was released in 1931. Zahid Hasan
Zahid Hasan (born 4 October 1965) is a Bangladeshi film, television and stage actor. He has been working as an actor in the show business arena of Bangladesh since the 1990s. He is also a TV commercial model. He was awarded Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film '' Srabon Megher Din'' (1999). Career Hasan was part of a theatre group for several years before moving to television in 1990. He took the lead in the BTV adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore's ''Shomapti'' and the protagonist in ''Bichchhu''. While he made his first film appearance in 1986, his most notable role was in 2000's '' Srabon Megher Din'', for which he won a National Award. Hasan Masood
Hasan Masood (born December 16, 1968) is a Bangladeshi actor. He is also a former journalist and military officer. Early life Masood was born in Barisal, but he was brought up in the city of Dhaka. He completed his SSC from BAF Shaheen School, Dhaka and his HSC from the Government Titumir College in Dhaka. Career Hasan has been singing from an early age and he had completed a 5-year course on Nazrul Sangeet from Chhayanaut. Hasan joined the Bangladesh Army in 1983 and commissioned from 11 BMA long course on 21 December 1984 in the corps of infantry and retired as a captain in 1992. He then worked as a sports correspondent at ''The New Nation'' and later in 1995, at '' The Daily Star'', and was also a correspondent of world service in the Bengali affiliate of the British Broadcasting Corporation from February 2004 to 2008. Kazi Sharmin Nahid Nupur Shabnoor (born 17 December 1977), known by her stage name Shabnoor, is a Bangladeshi film actress. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film ''Dui Noyoner Alo'' (2005). Background Kazi Sharmin Nahid Nupur was born on 17 December 1979 at Nabharan, Jessore, Bangladesh. Her father is Shahjahan Chowdhury. She has a sister and a brother–Jhumur and Tamal. Mostofa Sarwar Farooki (born 2 May 1973) is a Bangladeshi film director, producer and screenwriter. His films ''Third Person Singular Number'', ''Television'', ''No Bed Of Roses'' were critically acclaimed across the world and received numerous international and national awards. Bachelor (alternative title Bachelor: The Circle, bn, ব্যাচেলর) is a 2004 Bangladeshi comedy-drama-romance film directed by Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, in his feature directorial debut. It stars Humayun Faridi, Ahmed Rubel, Ferdous Ahmed, and Hasan Masood. The film was released on January 31, 2004, in Bangladesh. Aupee Karim's performance, in her feature film debut, won the Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress. Cast Production Mostofa Sarwar Farooki and screenwriter Anisul Haque had previously collaborated on a number of television serials such as ''Ekannaborti''. Gulshan Ara Akter Champa (born 5 January 1965) is a Bangladeshi film and television actress. She won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actress three times for the films Padma Nadir Majhi (1993), Anya Jibon (1995) and Uttarer Khep (2000), and the Best Supporting Actress award for Shasti (2005) and Chandragrohon (2008). Idris Ali (born 24 December 1956; known by his stage name Ilias Kanchan) is a Bangladeshi actor and activist. He appeared in more than 350 films during the 1980s and 1990s. He earned Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his role in the film '' Parineeta'' (1986) and Best Supporting Actor for '' Shasti'' (2005). He is a road safety activist in Bangladesh. Chashi Nazrul Islam (11 October 1941 – 11 January 2015) was a Bangladeshi film director and producer. He won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Director twice for the films Shuvoda (1986) and Hangor Nodi Grenade (1997). He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2004 by the Government of Bangladesh. Early life and career Islam was born on 23 October 1941 at Shomoshpur village in Sreenagar Upazila of Munshiganj to Mosleh Uddin Khan and Shayesta Khanom.
