''2point4 Children'' is a BBC Television sitcom that was created and written by Andrew Marshall. It follows the lives of the Porters, a seemingly average, working-class London family whose world is frequently turned upside-down by bad luck and bizarre occurrences. The show was originally broadcast on BBC One from 1991 to 1999, and ran for eight series, concluding on 30 December 1999 with the special episode "The Millennium Experience". Lead actor Gary Olsen (who played the father) died from cancer in September 2000. The show is regularly repeated in the UK. In Australia showings are on UKTV. The name of the show comes from the stereotypical average size of a typical nuclear family in the UK. The show regularly picked up audiences of up to 14 million throughout the 1990s, with an average of between 6 and 9 million. The final episode was viewed by 9.03 million people. ''Bad Education'' is a British television sitcom produced by Tiger Aspect Productions for BBC Three. It stars Jack Whitehall as young teacher Alfie Wickers – "the worst teacher ever to grace the British education system" – at the fictional Abbey Grove School, in Hertfordshire. History At the time of the series launch in August 2012, it broke BBC Three's record for the highest viewing figure for a first episode of a comedy, which was previously held by ''Horne & Corden'', but is now held by ''Cuckoo''. The second series premiered on BBC iPlayer on 27 August 2013, a week before the television air date of 3 September, as part of BBC Three's plans to premiere all its scripted comedy programmes online. Band Waggon
''Band Waggon'' was a comedy radio show broadcast by the BBC from 1938 to 1940. The first series featured Arthur Askey and Richard Murdoch, Richard "Stinker" Murdoch. In the second series, Askey and Murdoch were joined by Syd Walker, and the third series added Diana Clare for two episodes. ''Band Waggon'' was co-produced by Gordon Crier and Harry S. Pepper and was the first comedy show to be designed for radio. Together with ''Monday Night at Eight, Monday Night at Seven'', it established the practice of broadcasting a regular comedy and music programme at the same time each week. The show ended in 1940, allowing Askey to pursue a career in film and Murdoch to join the Royal Air Force. A stage show of the same name and starring Askey and Murdoch was toured by Jack Hylton beginning in November 1938. ''Ballylenon'' is a radio situation comedy set in a small village in County Donegal in Ireland in the 1950s. The six series totalling 30 half-hour episodes were originally broadcast on BBC Radio 4 BBC Radio 4 is a British national radio station owned and operated by the BBC that replaced the BBC Home Service in 1967. It broadcasts a wide variety of spoken-word programmes, including news, drama, comedy, science and history from the BBC' ... from 1994 until 1999. Badults
''Badults'' is a British sitcom series created and starring the members of Pappy's, along with Emer Kenny, Jack Docherty and Katherine Ryan in the lead roles. Written collectively by Pappy's, the first series piloted on 23 July 2013 on BBC Three. A second and final series was commissioned by the BBC on 23 August 2013 for broadcast in summer 2014. Plot A series following the lives of some flatmates, Matthew, Ben, Tom and Rachel, who do their best to fulfill their age old ambition of living together as adults albeit badly and earning the label 'Badults' hence. ''Bachelor Father'' is a British sitcom starring Ian Carmichael that aired for two series from 1970 to 1971. It was written by Richard Waring. Background ''Bachelor Father'' is loosely based on the life of Peter Lloyd Jeffock. Jeffock was a bachelor who had fostered twelve children. He later wrote an autobiography called ''Only Uncle''. Richard Waring, who wrote ''Bachelor Father'', based some of the plots on incidents told in ''Only Uncle''. Waring said that he would have kept more to ''Only Uncle'', but many of the true stories were so far-fetched, he thought the public wouldn't believe them. ''As Time Goes By'' is a British romantic sitcom which aired on BBC One from 12 January 1992 to 14 December 2005, running for nine series and two specials. It has made it into the top 30 of Britain's Best Sitcom. Starring Judi Dench and Geoffrey Palmer, it follows the relationship between two former lovers who meet unexpectedly after not having been in contact for 38 years. The programme's original working title had been ''Winter with Flowers'' but was changed during its first day of filming due to the cast's protestations. The new title was taken from the 1931 Herman Hupfeld song " As Time Goes By", and the recorded version by Joe Fagin was used as the title music.
