Badults
''Badults'' is a British sitcom series created and starring the members of Pappy's, along with Emer Kenny, Jack Docherty and Katherine Ryan in the lead roles. Written collectively by Pappy's, the first series piloted on 23 July 2013 on BBC Three. A second and final series was commissioned by the BBC on 23 August 2013 for broadcast in summer 2014. Plot A series following the lives of some flatmates, Matthew, Ben, Tom and Rachel, who do their best to fulfill their age old ambition of living together as adults albeit badly and earning the label 'Badults' hence. Clark, Crosby and Parry play characters who share a flat but are "bad at being adults". Production The series was developed under the working title ''The Secret Dude Society''. Pappy's
Pappy's is a British three-man comedy act, composed of comedians Ben Clark, Matthew Crosby and Tom Parry. The sketch troupe previously performed shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, but now mostly talk on podcasts about balconies and spaghetti. They regularly produce podcasts under the ''Pappy's Flatshare'' heading, and created and starred in the BBC Three sitcom ''Badults''. History Pappy's started out as a four-man comedy collective called "Pappy's Fun Club", consisting of Ben Clark, Matthew Crosby, Brendan Dodds, and Tom Parry. The group met at the University of Kent and started out performing in Canterbury and Wolverhampton. Katherine Louisa Ryan (born 30 June 1983) is a Canadian comedian, writer, presenter, and actress based in the United Kingdom. Matthew Crosby
Matthew Crosby (born 12 February 1980) is an English comedian and writer. Early life Matthew Crosby was born in Bromley. He attended St Olave's Grammar School., and went on to study English and American Literature with Film Studies at the University of Kent at Canterbury, where he met Tom Parry and Brendan Dodds. Matthew Crosby is little know for being the shortest man on radio x, half an inch higher than a borrower Biography Crosby was originally a teacher but left the profession to try comedy in 2004. Emer Kenny
Emer Gwynne Morganna Kenny (born 10 October 1989) is a British actress and screenwriter. Career Kenny made her professional debut in the 2007 BBC television drama ''Coming Down the Mountain'', and, in 2009, she made her film debut in Phil Claydon's ''Lesbian Vampire Killers''. She played the role of Kate in an improvisational BBC production called ''Freefall'' written and directed by Dominic Savage, which was screened in 2009. The Comedy Unit
The Comedy Unit or known sometimes as just Comedy Unit is a Scottish company that produces sitcoms, comedy sketches, live shows and other comedy productions. It began life as an in-house BBC department in 1983 under the auspices of Producer Colin Gilbert and became an independent production company in 1996 when Gilbert and business manager April Chamberlain left the BBC. By 2001 they had an annual turnover of £2million a core staff of 12 employees. They have produced radio and television shows that were aired on BBC Scotland and BBC Radio Scotland. It was bought by London-based RDF Media Group in 2006 which in turn was acquired by Paris-based Zodiak Entertainment Group in 2010. BBC Three
BBC Three is a British free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the BBC. It was first launched on 9 February 2003 with programmes targeting 16 to 34-year-olds, covering all genres including animation, comedy, current affairs, and drama series. The television channel closed down in 2016 and was replaced by an online-only BBC Three streaming channel. After six years of being online, BBC Three returned to linear television on 1 February 2022. Tom Parry is an English comedian, playwright and actor. Career Stand-up Parry performed his debut solo show ‘Yellow T-shirt’ at the 2015 Edinburgh Festival Fringe. It was nominated as the Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards and earned Parry a BBC radio show. It was also nominated for Best Show at the 2016 Chortle Awards. The Spook School
The Spook School were a British four-piece indie pop band from Edinburgh, Scotland. The name is a reference to the Glasgow School. The band's lyrics explore "gender, sexuality and queer issues" with themes such as "fluidity and the lack of a binary in gender". Their music is often compared to bands on the C86 compilation, such as The Shop Assistants, as well as The Buzzcocks; the band also lists David Bowie as an influence. Jack Docherty
John Docherty (born 1962) is a Scottish writer, actor, presenter and producer. Career He first performed at the 1980 Edinburgh Festival Fringe with the comedy sketch group The Bodgers which he formed with George Watson's College schoolfriends Moray Hunter, Gordon Kennedy and Pete Baikie. They performed each year from 1980 to 1985. ''Arfington, Arfington'' their 1984 show and ''Mr Hargreaves Did It'' their 1985 show were both shortlisted for the Perrier Comedy Award. Andrew Collins is an English writer and broadcaster. He is the creator and writer of the Radio 4 sitcom ''Mr Blue Sky''. His TV writing work includes ''EastEnders'' and the sitcoms ''Grass'' (which he co-wrote with Simon Day) and ''Not Going Out'' (which he initially co-wrote with Lee Mack). Collins has also worked as a music, television and film critic.
