History Ever sense the beginning Air India never really had a permanent professional manager. Most of their managers were just youth development coaches. Air India FC
Air India Football Club is an Indian professional football club, founded by Anand Prajapati in 1952, based in Mumbai, Maharashtra. They are sponsored by Air India, and have enjoyed some success in the MDFA Elite League. They have also competed in the I-League, then top tier of Indian football league system. Four times champions in the local league in Mumbai, Air India are best known for nurturing youngsters into big time players. Many of these boys have played with distinction for bigger teams in the later years. Santosh Kashyap
Santosh Kashyap is a football manager who is current head coach of Chennaiyin FC B. During his professional career, he represented India in international level and Mahindra United in the National Football League. Previously, he has been youth coach at Mahindra United and Mohun Bagan. Coaching career After the end of his playing career, Kashyap went into coaching. His first job was as the Mahindra United U-19 coach. During his last season with the Mahindra Youth Team he guided them to the Super Division title in the Mumbai Football League. Air India Before the 2010-11 I-League season Santosh signed for I-League club Air India FC. Penalty Shoot-out (association Football)
A penalty shoot-out (officially kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method in association football to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) have expired. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different kickers; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. If scores are level after five pairs of shots, the shootout progresses into additional " sudden-death" rounds. Balls successfully kicked into the goal during a shoot-out do not count as goals for the individual kickers or the team, and are tallied separately from the goals scored during normal play (including extra time, if any). Bimal Ghosh
Bimal Ghosh (born 29 June 1956) is an Indian former footballer and the current head coach of Tollygunge Agragami. Coaching career Air India During the first ever National Football League season in 1996–97, Ghosh was the coach the Air India FC. Mumbai Tigers In 2012, Ghosh became the first ever manager of Mumbai Tigers, a start-up team based in Mumbai in the I-League 2nd Division, then named Dodsal Football Club. Godfrey Pereira
Godfrey Pereira is a former Indian footballer who was last the head coach for Air India FC in the I-League. Coaching career Air India On 3 July 2012, it was announced that Pereira had become coach of Air India FC after Santosh Kashyap joined Mohun Bagan. Earlier in his playing career, Pereira played for the India national football team. He coached his first match for Air India on 26 August 2012 during the 2012 Durand Cup against Delhi United FC, in which Air India won 3–0. 2012 Durand Cup
The 2012 Durand Cup was the 125th season of the Durand Cup, the third oldest football tournament in the world, which is a knock-out competition held in India. Churchill Brothers were the current holders, having beaten Prayag United in the 2011 Final. The tournament was held from 16 August to 1 September with all matches at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi. Air India won the 2012 Durand Cup in the final after beating Dodsal 3–2 on penalties after the match ended 0–0 after 120 minutes. Naushad Moosa (born 10 February 1971) is a former Indian footballer who mostly worked as head coach of Bengaluru FC Reserves and Academy. During his playing days, Moosa played for East Bengal, Mahindra United, and Mohammedan in the National Football League and I-League. He also represented India from 1994 to 1998.
