Bangkok Mass Transit System Public Company Limited (BTSC, th, บริษัทระบบขนส่งมวลชนกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน)) is a Thai transport company, best known as the operator of Bangkok's BTS Skytrain. It is a majority-owned subsidiary of BTS Group Holdings (BTSG, previously known as Tanayong), and also operates the Bangkok BRT and the Gold Line. History and operations BTSC was founded by Keeree Kanjanapas in 1992 to serve as Tanayong's concession operator for Bangkok's then-planned elevated rapid transit system. Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha ( th, วิชัย ศรีวัฒนประภา;} born Vichai Raksriaksorn, th, วิชัย รักศรีอักษร; 4 April 1958 – 27 October 2018) was a Thai billionaire businessman and the founder, owner and chairman of King Power Duty Free. Nishita Shah is a Thai businesswoman of Indian descent. She is currently the largest individual shareholder and director of Precious Shipping, one of Thailand's large dry-bulk shipping companies. She is also the managing director of GP Group, a 145-year-old, privately-held conglomerate with three listed companies and more than 40 private enterprises which cover a range of sectors – from aviation, healthcare and shipping to software, hospitality and construction.
