Taiwanese Americans () are Americans who carry full or partial ancestry from Taiwan. This includes American-born citizens who descend from migrants from Taiwan. As of the 2010 U.S. Census, 49% of Taiwanese Americans lived in the state of California. New York and Texas have the second and third largest Taiwanese American populations, respectively. Wayne Chang (born August 3, 1983) is an American entrepreneur, angel investor, film producer, and philanthropist. He is best known for founding Crashlytics, a startup acquired by Twitter in 2013, creating a filesharing network called i2hub, making various seed investments, and his lawsuit against the Winklevoss brothers. Early life Chang was born in Taipei, Taiwan, and grew up extremely poor on a farm in rural Taiwan. At age 6, he immigrated to the United States. However, in the states, things weren't that much better. He didn't have his own bed until he was 16. Despite that, Chang displayed a natural talent for technology. He wrote his first software program on the Apple IIe at age 7. Chen Wen-ch'i (, born ) is a Taiwanese-American entrepreneur who has been President and CEO of VIA Technologies, Inc. since 1992. Prior to VIA, Chen co-founded and was President and CEO of Symphony Laboratories. He also held positions of Sales & Marketing VP at high tech start-up ULSI and senior architect at Intel. Chen holds a master's degree in electrical engineering from National Taiwan University and a masters in computer science from the California Institute of Technology. Steve Chen (; born August 25, 1978) is a Taiwanese-American Internet entrepreneur who is one of the co-founders and previous chief technology officer of the video-sharing website YouTube. Steve Chen (; pinyin: Chén Shìqīng) (born 1944 in Taiwan) is a Taiwanese computer engineer and internet entrepreneur. Chen was elected to the US National Academy of Engineering in 1991 for leadership in the development of super-computer architectures and their realization. Life Chen earned a BS from National Taiwan University in 1966. MS from Villanova University in 1971 and a PhD under David Kuck from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1975. From 1975 through 1978 he worked for Burroughs Corporation on the design of the Burroughs large systems line of supercomputers.
