Arnold Kent
Arnold Kent (1899 – 1928) was an Italian-born American actor. He was born in Sesto Fiorentino as Lido Manetti and acted under that name in Italy, appearing in films such as '' Goodbye Youth'' (1918) and '' Quo Vadis'' (1924). He moved then to Hollywood where he played supporting roles in films such as '' Hula'' (1927) with Clara Bow and Clive Brook. Armando Fizzarotti
Armando Fizzarotti (February 16, 1892 – February 15, 1966) was an Italian screenwriter and film director. Fizzarotti was a native of Naples, and his films are generally set in the city. He was specifically hired to direct ''Malaspina (film), Malaspina'' (1947) because of his experience making Neapolitan-style films.Marlow-Mann p.16 The film helped revive Neapolitan cinema, which had been suppressed during the Fascist Italy (1922–1943), Fascist era as production was centralised in Rome. His son Ettore Maria Fizzarotti was also a film director. Elvira Notari
Elvira Notari (born Elvira Coda; 10 February 1875 – 17 December 1946) was an Italian film director, one of the country's earliest and most prolific female filmmaker. She is credited as the first woman who made over sixty feature films and about a hundred shorts and documentaries, quite often writing the subjects and screenplays, inspired by Naples. The Elvira Notari Prize is named after her. She was of modest social origins. She married Nicola Notari. Together they founded Dora Film, and she became the first Italian woman to create a family film production company. She directed the films, while he worked as a cameraman. Their son, Eduardo or 'Gennariello,' based on a character he played, worked as an actor in many of the films.
