Chambéry
Chambéry (, , ; Arpitan: ''Chambèri'') is the prefecture of the Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. Michel Fourniret
Michel Paul Fourniret (4 April 1942 – 10 May 2021) was a French serial killer who confessed to killing 12 people in France and Belgium between 1987 and 2003. After he was arrested in June 2003 for the attempted kidnapping of a teenage girl in Ciney, Fourniret confessed to killing nine people — eight females and one male — in 2004, having been informed on by his then-wife, Monique Pierrette Olivier (born 31 October 1948). Fourniret was convicted of seven of these murders on 28 May 2008 and sentenced to life imprisonment without possibility of parole, while Olivier was given life with a minimum term of 28 years for complicity. In February 2018, Fourniret confessed to killing two more women. On 16 November 2018, Fourniret and Olivier were convicted of the murder of Farida Hammiche, the last of the eight women that Fourniret confessed to killing in 2004. Francazal Murders
The Francazal Murders (French: ''Affaire des paras de Francazal'') were a series of murders perpetrated near the 101 Toulouse-Francazal Air Base by four AWOL paratroopers (Philippe Siauve, Thierry El Borgi, Thierry Jaouen and Franck Feuerstein). Between May 30th and July 18th, 1989, they murdered three women and a conservation officer, for which they later found guilty and received varying terms of imprisonment. Crimes On the evening of May 30, 1989, 23-year-old Isabelle Rabou disappeared near Toulouse; she had been drinking with her friends and slept over at one's house. The next morning, her parents and friends, worried that they hadn't heard from her, went to the Toulouse police station to report her disappearance, as it was unlike her to cease contact like that. Martin Dumollard
Martin Dumollard (June 22, 1810 − March 8, 1862) was a French serial killer condemned to the guillotine after having been arrested and charged with the deaths of maids from 1855 to 1861. His victims were approached in Lyon by Dumollard, who offered them a nice house in Côtière. Convinced, they would eventually follow him and, during their wanderings on foot, he attacked them. All twelve assaults or attempted assaults occurred in the late 1850s and early 1860s until that of Marie Pichon on May 28, 1861. He was quickly arrested, along with his wife and accomplice, Marie-Anne Martinet, who stole the personal belongings and used them for resale. Their trial took place from January 29 to February 1, 1862: Dumollard was sentenced to death and his wife, twenty years of penal labour. Casimir Dankerque (1904 – August 13, 1936), known as The Monster of Artois (French: ''Le Monstre de l'Artois''), was a French criminal and serial killer responsible for murdering four pensioners in Pas-de-Calais between September and October 1935. Convicted of these murders, in addition to other crimes, he was guillotined in 1936. Early life and crimes Born in 1904 in Dainville, Casimir Dankerque was the son of a coal merchant. Described as an odd, sly brute by acquaintances, by 1930, Dankerque was divorced from his wife, separated from his three children and jobless. His eccentric behavior was demonstrated after he had participated in a bicycle race in Arras: after finishing 22nd, the contestants were to have an aviation meeting, during which Dankerque parachuted in front of his astonished friends. Dominique Cottrez
Dominique Cottrez is a French woman who admitted killing 8 of her newborn infants. Murders Cottrez committed the murders during an approximately 17-year period between 1989 and 2006. She suffocated eight of her children shortly after giving birth. Cottrez was able to conceal her pregnancies from her husband and doctor due to her weight. She buried the bodies in gardens at her home and her parent's home. In July 2010, two of the bodies were discovered in plastic bags by new owners working in the garden of a house Dominique and her husband, Pierre-Marie Cottrez, previously occupied. When police contacted the Cottrez family to question them about the discoveries, Dominique immediately admitted that the bodies belonged to two infants she had given birth to.
