''Rocksmith'' supports a DLC store where users may purchase new songs, in-game pedals, and in-game amplifiers. Bass guitar functionality was added to the North American version of the game via downloadable content on August 14, 2012. All DLC songs are forward-compatible with ''Rocksmith 2014'', but DLC songs released on or after October 22, 2013, are compatible only with ''Rocksmith 2014'' and will not play on the original version of ''Rocksmith''. As of , 1,447 additional songs have been made available as DLC, 1,444 of which are available to purchase and download from the ''Rocksmith'' store. ''Rocksmith'' is a music video game produced by Ubisoft, released in October 2011 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms in North America. ''Rocksmith'' was released on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 during September 2012 in Australian and European markets and October 2012 in Japan. A Windows version was released on October 16, 2012, after several delays. "Jessica" is an instrumental piece by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band, released in December 1973 as the second single from the group's fourth studio album, '' Brothers and Sisters'' (1973). Written by guitarist Dickey Betts, the song is a tribute to Gypsy jazz guitarist Django Reinhardt, in that it was designed to be played using only two fingers on the left hand. Betts wrote the majority of "Jessica" at the band's farm in Juliette, Georgia. He named it after his daughter, Jessica Betts, who was an infant when it was released. She had bounced along to the song's rhythm, and Betts attempted to capture her attitude with its melody. He invited fellow guitarist Les Dudek over to collaborate on it, and Dudek performed the bridge.
