This is a list of assets currently owned by Bell Media, a subsidiary of BCE Inc. Note that this list does not include BCE's 28% interest in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, which itself owns a majority interest in the digital specialty channels Leafs Nation Network, NBA TV Canada, and GolTV Canada. This interest is held by BCE through a different subsidiary, not through Bell Media. This list also does not enumerate the various telecommunications or retail assets owned by BCE. Bell Media Inc. ( French: ) is a Canadian company formed by the amalgamation of several companies. Establishment (2011–13) On December 9, 2011, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan announced the sale of its majority stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to BCE and its rival, Rogers Communications, in a deal valued at around $1.32 billion. Additionally, Larry Tanenbaum increased his stake in the company to 25%. The deal closed in August 2012. On March 16, 2012, BCE announced that it had entered in an agreement to acquire Montreal-based broadcaster Astral Media for an estimated value at $3.38 billion; the assets of which were to be incorporated into Bell Media. The acquisition was primarily centered on Astral's premium services (such as The Movie Network and its stake in HBO Canada) and its French-language radio and television stations. CFCN-DT (channel 4) is a television station in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, part of the CTV Television Network. It is owned and operated by network parent Bell Media alongside cable-exclusive CTV 2 Alberta (based in Edmonton with sister station CFRN-DT). CFCN-DT's studios are located on Patina Rise Southwest, near Calgary's Coach Hill neighbourhood, and its transmitter is located near Old Banff Coach Road/ Highway 563. History CFCN first signed on the air on September 9, 1960; owned by the Love family, along with CFCN-AM (1060 kHz, now CKMX). It was the first independent television station in Canada. It became a charter member of the Canadian Television Network, now CTV, on October 8, 1961. CKCW-DT (channel 2) is a television station in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, part of the CTV Television Network. It serves as the network's outlet for both New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island (by way of a repeater in Charlottetown). Owned and operated by network parent Bell Media, CKCW-DT maintains studios at Halifax and George Streets in Moncton, with a PEI bureau in Charlottetown. Its transmitter is located on Wilson Road in Hillsborough. CKCW-DT is part of the CTV Atlantic regional system in the Maritimes. It is a sister station to CKLT-DT in Saint John, which essentially operates as a CKCW rebroadcaster even though it is separately licensed.
