Roquebrun AOC
Roquebrun (; oc, Ròcabrun) is a commune in the Hérault department in the Occitanie region in southern France. Geography Roquebrun is a large village situated at the southern entry to the National Park of the High Languedoc. Most of the village is between 200 and 350 meters above sea level and more than 100 meters above the Orb River which flows from the mountains to the west. Climate Overall the pattern of weather is Mediterranean but Roquebrun is also affected by the winds from the Massif Central to the north and the Pyrenees to the west. However, the village is sheltered by hills to the north, east and west and this, with the remnants of nearby heat from underlying volcanic intrusion produces a microclimate in which orange, lemon and pomegranate and several types of palm trees are able to flourish and produce fruit. Minervois La Liviniere
Minervois is an AOC in the Languedoc-Roussillon wine region, in the departments of the Aude and of the Herault. Historically, the region's capital has been the village of Minerve. AOC regulations require the wine to be blended (at least 2 varieties), so pure varietal wines must be Vin de Pays. The red wines of the Minervois appellation are produced from Syrah and Mourvedre, Grenache and Lladoner Pelut (minimum 60%); and Carignan, Cinsault, Piquepoul, Terret, and Rivairenc (maximum 40%). In any case Syrah and Mourvedre needs to be at least 20% of total, and Piquepoul, Terret, and Rivairenc needs to be no more than 10%. Fitou ( oc, Fiton) is a large French wine appellation in Languedoc-Roussillon, France. The dominant vine variety is Carignan which has to constitute 40% of any blend. Grenache, Lladoner Pelut (the 'hairy' Grenache), Mourvèdre and Syrah are also often blended with it. Muscat de Rivesaltes AOC, a vin doux naturel, also comes from the region.
