Lisette Kampus
Lisette Kampus (born 21 March 1984 in Tallinn) is an Estonian LGBT rights movement activist. She is daughter of the actor Mart Kampus and Krista Kampus. She is a member of the Estonian Social Democratic Party. She lives openly as a lesbian. Lisette Kampus has been one of the leaders of the contemporary Estonian sexual minorities movement. She has dealt with issues like same-sex partners' equal rights, the position of non-heterosexuals in the society, the protection of their rights and the fight against intolerance and discrimination. From 2005 to 2007, Kampus lived in Warsaw, Poland and worked as an EU coordinator at the LGBT rights organization Kampania Przeciw Homofobii. Tallinn
Tallinn () is the most populous and capital city of Estonia. Situated on a bay in north Estonia, on the shore of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea, Tallinn has a population of 437,811 (as of 2022) and administratively lies in the Harju ''maakond'' (county). Sven Mikser
Sven Mikser (born 8 November 1973) is an Estonian politician. Career As a member of the Estonian Centre Party from 2002 to 2003, Mikser served as the minister of defence in the Siim Kallas' cabinet. Mikser was the leader of the Social Democratic Party between 16 October 2010 and 30 May 2015. He has been the Minister of Defence since 26 March 2014 in Taavi Rõivas' first and second cabinets. On 23 November 2016 he assumed the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in the cabinet of Jüri Ratas. Mikser was elected as a Member of the European Parliament in 2019. He has since been serving on the Committee on Foreign Affairs and its Subcommittee on Security and Defence. Toomas Hendrik Ilves
Toomas Hendrik Ilves (; born 26 December 1953) is an Estonian politician who served as the fourth president of Estonia from 2006 until 2016. Ilves worked as a diplomat and journalist, and he was the leader of the Social Democratic Party in the 1990s. He served in the government as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1996 to 1998 and again from 1999 to 2002. Later, he was a Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2006. He was elected as President of Estonia by an electoral college on 23 September 2006 and his term as President began on 9 October 2006. He was reelected by Parliament in 2011. Katrin Saks
Katrin Saks (born 29 November 1956 in Tallinn) is an Estonian politician and journalist. From 1999 to 2002, she was Minister of Population Affairs in the cabinet of Mart Laar. She was the vice-chairwoman of the Social Democratic Party from 2005 to 2010. In October 2006 she became Member of the European Parliament, replacing Toomas Hendrik Ilves, who had been elected President of Estonia. She lost her seat in the 2009 European election, but shortly regained it, when on 7 April 2014 she replaced Ivari Padar who became Estonian Minister for Agriculture, until in July she was succeeded by Marju Lauristin following the 2014 European election. ' is an initialism that stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. In use since the 1990s, the initialism, as well as some of its common variants, functions as an umbrella term for sexuality and gender identity.
