Eliseo Nicolás Alonso ( Agones, Pravia, 15 February 1955 - Pereda, Grado, Asturias, 2 June 2012) was an Asturian artisan who was known as Lise and mainly by his work with jet. Lise Myhre (born 1 November 1975 in Lørenskog) is a Norwegian cartoonist. Her most famous cartoon is ''Nemi''. Biography After a short study of graphical design at the Santa Monica College of Art in California, Lise Myhre started her career as an artist, earning money illustrating CD covers and T-shirts. She also participated in cartoon competitions and started giving contributions to ''Larsons Galne Verden'', the Norwegian version of Gary Larson's magazine ''The Far Side'' ("M.P." in 1996). From 1997, Myhre was given her own page in ''Larsons Gale Verden'', "Den svarte siden" ( en, the Black Side/Page), and this developed into Nemi. ''Lise with a Parasol'' (french: Lise – La femme à l'ombrelle) is an oil on canvas painting by French artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir, created in 1867 during his early Salon period. The full-length painting depicts model Lise Tréhot posing in a forest. She wears a white muslin dress and holds a black lace parasol to shade her from the sunlight, which filters down through the leaves, contrasting her face in the shadow and her body in the light, highlighting her dress rather than her face. After having several paintings rejected by the Salon, Renoir's ''Lise with a Parasol'' was finally accepted and exhibited in May 1868. The painting was one of Renoir's first critically successful works. Lise Tréhot (14 March 1848 – 12 March 1922) was a French art model who posed for artist Pierre-Auguste Renoir from 1866 until 1872, during his early Salon period. She appeared in more than twenty paintings, including notable works such as ''Lise with a Parasol'' (1867) and ''In Summer'' (1868), and she was the model for almost all of Renoir's work featuring female figures at this time. Lise Thibault DStJ (; born 2 April 1939) is a Canadian politician who served as the List of lieutenant governors of Quebec#Lieutenant Governors of Quebec, 1867–present, 27th Lieutenant Governor of Quebec from 1997 to 2007. She later spent six months in jail for misuse of public funds, which she was ordered to repay the government. As of she is the only Canadian vice-regal representative to have been incarcerated. Lise Thériault (born January 7, 1966) is a former Canadian politician. She is a former Member of the National Assembly of Quebec representing the riding of Anjou–Louis-Riel in Montreal. She was the Deputy Premier of Quebec and Minister for the Status of Women in the Couillard government. Before entering politics, Thériault was for eight years a sales director and was also for nine years an editor and co-founder of ''l'Édition – Le Journal des Gens d'affaires''. Lise Salvas-Bronsard (1940 – August 1995) was a Canadian economist and writer who was a teacher of economics and macroeconomics in the economics department of the Université de Montréal from 1970 to 1995. Elise Meitner ( , ; 7 November 1878 – 27 October 1968) was an Austrian-Swedish physicist who was one of those responsible for the discovery of the element protactinium and nuclear fission. While working at the Kaiser Wilhelm Institute on radioactivity, she discovered the radioactive isotope protactinium-231 in 1917. In 1938, Meitner and her nephew, the physicist Otto Robert Frisch, discovered nuclear fission. She was praised by Albert Einstein as the "German Marie Curie". Completing her doctoral research in 1905, Meitner became the second woman from the University of Vienna to earn a doctorate in physics.
