Lions Youth Brass Band
The Lions Youth Brass is a youth band based in Sandbach, England. Founded in 1989, the band is named after several Lions Clubs in the region that have sponsored it since its founding. With over 100 members, the organisation contains three bands for players of different skill levels; in ascending order, these are the Debut band, the Academy band, and the Youth band. The age range of the organisation ranges between 6 and 18 and rehearse at Sandbach School every Tuesday. All three bands compete at various competitions including the National Youth Brass Band Championships. The Youth Band compete in the Championship Section where they were placed second in 2012 and 2014. The Academy Band compete in the Junior section and gained first place in 202022. The Debut Band in the Beginner section, where they picked up the "Band with Most Potential" prize in 2014,2015 and 2016. The International Association of Lions Clubs, more commonly known as Lions Clubs International, is an international non-political service organization established originally in 1916 in Chicago, Illinois, by Melvin Jones. Sandbach School
Sandbach School is a free school in Sandbach, Cheshire, north-west England. It was established in 1677 by local philanthropists, including Richard Lea, who donated the land for the school, and Francis Welles, who helped to fund the schoolhouse. It was located at Egerton Lodge, Middlewich Road, before moving into a new set of buildings designed by George Gilbert Scott in 1851. It became an independent school in 1945, and a state-funded independent grammar school in 1955. It became a state-funded independent school accepting boys of all abilities in 1979. In 2011, it became one of the country's first free schools. There are 1220 pupils in the school, aged 11–18. The lower school, years 7 to 11, is entirely boys, however, the sixth form is coeducational. The current headteacher is Sarah Burns, who assumed the role in 2008. Black Dyke Mills Band
Black Dyke Band, formerly John Foster & Son Black Dyke Mills Band, is one of the oldest and best-known brass bands in the world. It originated as multiple community bands founded by John Foster at his family's textile mill in Queensbury, West Yorkshire in the mid-19th century. The ensemble has become prominent in competitive band championships and through recordings for film and television. The band is well-known for recording the soundtrack to the BBC gardening makeover series ''Ground Force'' in 1997, and appeared in the Christmas edition of Victoria Wood's sitcom ''Dinnerladies'' in 1999. Foden's Band
Foden's Band (originally Foden's Motor Works Band, and variants with sponsors' names) is a brass band from Sandbach in Cheshire. The band derives its name from the Foden manufacturer of trucks in Sandbach. Foden's Band are one of the top brass bands in the world; regularly appearing at the top of the "World of Brass – World Rankings" In 2012, Foden's became double winners of both the National Championships and the British Open.
