Lionel Dotson
Lionel Eugene Dotson, Jr. (born February 11, 1985) is a former American football defensive tackle. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Arizona. Dotson was also a member of the Denver Broncos and Buffalo Bills. Early years Dotson attended and played high school football at Dobie High School in Pasadena, Texas. He was a two-time letterman in both football and basketball. During his senior season, he recorded 50 tackles and 13 sacks on his way to a nomination for the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. Defensive Tackle
A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. Vance Juano Bedford (born August 20, 1958) is an American football coach who last served as defensive coordinator at the University of Texas at Austin for head coach Charlie Strong. He was previously the defensive coordinator at the University of Louisville, where he also served under head coach Charlie Strong. He had served as defensive back coach at the University of Florida under Urban Meyer. He previously served as defensive backs coach under Lloyd Carr at the University of Michigan. Phillip Blaine Merling (born April 19, 1985) is a former American football defensive end. He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He played college football at Clemson University. He was also a member of the Green Bay Packers and Washington Redskins.
