MullenLowe Lintas Group, formerly Lintas, is an Indian advertising marketing communications company. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Interpublic Group (IPG), and is part of the multinational MullenLowe Group. The group is currently headed by Amer Jaleel, group chairman and chief creative officer, and Virat Tandon, group chief executive officer. As of May 2018, MullenLowe Lintas Group employs approximately 700 people in 14 offices located in eight Indian cities. History Lintas (India) company began operating in Mumbai, India in 1969 as the Indian division of the advertising wing of Lever brothers (Lintas being an acronym for Lever International Advertising Services). It worked as a subsidiary of Lintas international which was established in 1899 and was later made a part of Unilever. MullenLowe Group is a global integrated marketing communications network headquartered in London. It is a part of the Interpublic Group of Companies (IPG), and consists of four divisions: MullenLowe, MullenLowe Comms, Mediahub, and MullenLowe Profero. History A precursor of MullenLowe Group, Lowe & Partners was an international advertising agency with an extensive network created through numerous mergers and acquisitions. Lowe was founded in 1981 by Frank Lowe (advertiser), Frank Lowe, and he sold the firm to IPG in 1990. Another predecessor, Lintas, had a history stretching back to 1899, starting as the house agency for London soap maker Lever Brothers. Alyque Padamsee
Alyque Padamsee (5 March 1928 – 17 November 2018) was an Indian theatre personality and ad film maker. He played Muhammad Ali Jinnah in the 1982 British period film ''Gandhi''. Besides being involved in Indian theatre as an actor and producer, Padamsee was an advertising professional who once headed the advertising company Lintas Bombay. Early life and education Padamsee was born in Bombay in 1928 into a traditional Khoja Muslim Ismaili family hailing from the Kutch region of Gujarat. Gerson Da Cunha
Gerson da Cunha (16 June 1929 – 7 January 2022) was an Indian advertising professional who was also a stage and film actor, social worker, and author. He headed the Indian market communications agency Lintas and also worked for J. Walter Thompson, and Hindustan Lever in a career spanning 25 years. He worked with UNICEF in Brazil and was awarded the Order of Rio Branco by the government of Brazil in 2018 for his services to that country. Shyam Benegal (born 14 December 1934) is an Indian film director, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker.
