Lingulella
''Lingulella'' is a genus of phosphatic-shelled brachiopod. It is known from the Middle Cambrian Burgess Shale (Canada) to the Upper Ordovician Bromide Formation (United States) in North America.Amsden, T.W. Oklahoma Geological Survey, Circular 43. 1957 346 specimens of ''Lingulella'' are known from the Greater Phyllopod bed, where they comprise 0.66% of the community. Some specimens of the brachiopod preserve the pedicle intact, which was long and thin. The brachiopod is thought to have been a generalist, as it appears consistently throughout the strata of the Greater Phyllopod bed. Bromide Formation
The Bromide Formation is a geological formation in Oklahoma, USA. It is well known for its diverse echinoderm and trilobite fossil fauna. Location The Bromide Formation crops out in the Arbuckle and Wichita Mountains and in the Criner Hills of Southern Oklahoma. It appears at the surface in particular within Carter, Johnston, Murray and Pontotoc counties (34.0° N, 97.0° W). Stratigraphy The Bromide Formation is the uppermost part of the Simpson Group, and originates from the Upper Ordovician (early Sandbian). This mostly carbonate succession is divided into the Mountain Lake and overlying Pooleville members. Paleontology in North Dakota refers to paleontological research occurring within or conducted by people from the U.S. state of North Dakota. During the early Paleozoic era most of North Dakota was covered by a sea home to brachiopods, corals, and fishes. The sea briefly left during the Silurian, but soon returned, until once more starting to withdraw during the Permian.
