Line 9, Tianjin Metro
Line 9 is a rapid transit line of the Tianjin Metro. It spans 52.8 km with 21 stations, connecting the urban area of Tianjin with Binhai New Area, a new area within the jurisdiction of Tianjin Municipality. The one-way journey time is approximately one hour. Line 9 is run by Tianjin Binhai Mass Transit Development Co., Ltd, which became a subsidiary of Tianjin Rail Transit Group Corporation in 2017. Design Most of the line is elevated that runs parallel to the Jinbin Expressway (only the westernmost runs in tunnels). 2015 Tianjin Explosions
On 12 August 2015, a series of explosions at the Port of Tianjin in Tianjin, northern China, killed 173 people, according to official reports, and injured hundreds of others. The explosions occurred at a container storage station in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, China. The first two explosions occurred 33 seconds apart. The second explosion was far larger and involved the detonation of about 800 tonnes of ammonium nitrate (approx. 256 tonnes TNT equivalent). Fires caused by the initial explosions continued to burn uncontrolled throughout the weekend, resulting in eight additional explosions on 15 August. The cause of the explosions was not immediately known, but an investigation concluded in February 2016 that an overheated container of dry nitrocellulose was the cause of the initial explosion. Hedong District () is located at the heart of the municipality of Tianjin, People's Republic of China. Its name literally means "east of the river", referring to its location east of the Hai River. Tianjin Railway Station
The Tianjin railway station () is the principal railway station in Tianjin, China. It was established in 1888, rebuilt in 1987-1988, and restructured in 2007-2008. Donghai Road Station
Donghai Road Station (), also known as Donghailu Station, is a metro station, station of Line 9, Tianjin Metro, Line 9 of the Tianjin Metro. It started operations on 28 March 2004. The station was severely damaged on 12 August 2015 when 2015 Tianjin explosions, a series of explosions occurred at the nearby Port of Tianjin. The roof of the station collapsed. As a result of the damage as well as the ongoing situation at the blast site, the station was closed for repairs from 13 August 2015 and reopened on 31 December 2016.
