Line 2 (Kharkiv Metro)
The Saltivska line ( uk, Салтівська лінія, russian: Салтовская линия) is the second line of the Kharkiv Metro operating since 1984, serving Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine. The Saltivska Line is the shortest line segment of the system, at , with a total of eight stations. Unique to the Kharkiv Metro is the Saltivska line's metro bridge, which passes above the Kharkiv River between the Kyivska and Akademika Barabashova stations, respectively. Geographically, the Saltivska line cuts Kharkiv on a northeast–southwest axis, provides subway access to much of Saltivka (for which the line is named). It connects the city's largest residential neighborhood with the Constitution Square and Freedom Square in the city center. Pushkinska (Kharkiv Metro)
Yaroslava Mudroho ( uk, Ярослава Мудрого, ) is a station on the Kharkiv Metro's Saltivska Line. Construction on the station began on 16 April 1977, and it opened on 10 August 1984, which made it the eighth station of the Saltivska Line. It is located in Kharkiv's city center, beneath the intersection of the "Petrovskoho" and "Skovorody" streets. The station is named after the former name of Hryhorii Skovoroda street that was named (after the Russian poet Alexander Pushkin) Pushkinska street at the time of the station's opening until 26 January 2024. Four days after the renaming of Pushkinska street Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov stated that all toponyms in Kharkiv associated with Russia will be renamed within three to four months, including the renaming of Pushkinska metro station. The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' It was initially opened on November 6th, 1960, as a single line with five stations. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. The Maidan Konstytutsii ( uk, Майдан Конституції, - Constitution Square) is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Kholodnohirsko–Zavodska Line. The station was opened on 23 August 1975. It is located in the historical part of Kharkiv, beneath the Maidan Konstytutsii (''Constitution square''), previously known as Soviet Square. The Maidan Konstytutsii station forms a complex with the adjacent station, Istorychnyi Muzei, on the Saltivska Line. Before the Istorychniy Muzei station's completion in 1984, a relief marble architectural item adorned with the hammer and sickle was located on the station. The Universytet ( uk, Університет, , russian: Университет) is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Saltivska Line. The station was opened on 10 August 1984 and is located beneath the '' Ploscha Svobody'', at the time, the largest square in Europe and the second largest in the world after Tiananmen Square, in the centre of Kharkiv. The station is named after the Kharkiv National University, which is located on top of the square. Up until 1994 the station was called ''Dzerzhinska'' according to the name of the square ''Poloscha Dzerzhinskoho'', (Dzherzhinsky square) after the founder of the Soviet Secret Police Felix Dzerzhinsky. Kholodna Hora ( uk, Холодна Гора, ; russian: Холо́дная Гора́, meaning ''cold mountain'') is a station on Kharkiv Metro's Kholodnohirsko–Zavodska Line. The station is the western terminus of the line and was opened on 23 August 1975.
