Line 10 (Metrovalencia)
Line 10 is a tram line which forms part of Metrovalencia in the city of Valencia, Spain. It opened on 17 May 2022. From 2007 until 2014, the line was designated as ''line 2''. However, in November 2014, this designation was given to a branch of the existing Line 1 (Metrovalencia), Line 1, effective from April 2015. The line was then referred to as 'T2' until 1 March 2018 when it was decided to name it Line 10, to avoid confusion with existing metro lines. The first sections of the line had been built by 2007, with the part north of the city centre used by Line 6. A lack of available funds as a result of the 2008–2012 Spanish financial crisis, Spanish economic crisis led to work being halted on the remaining sections. In June 2017, work resumed, with funding from the European Union and regional government used to complete the southern half of the line. Tram
A tram (called a streetcar or trolley in North America) is a rail vehicle that travels on tramway tracks on public urban streets; some include segments on segregated right-of-way. The tramlines or networks operated as public transport are called tramways or simply trams/streetcars. Many recently built tramways use the contemporary term light rail. The vehicles are called streetcars or trolleys (not to be confused with trolleybus) in North America and trams or tramcars elsewhere. The Serrans Gate or Serranos Gate ( ca-valencia, Porta dels Serrans, ; es, Puerta de Serranos, ), also known as Serrans Towers or Serranos Towers ( ca-valencia, Torres dels Serrans, ; es, Torres de Serranos, ) is one of the twelve gates that formed part of the ancient city wall, the Christian Wall (''Muralla cristiana''), of the city of Valencia, Spain. Ghost Station
A ghost station is a disused train station through which revenue-service passenger trains (especially rapid transit trains) pass but at which they do not stop. The term is also sometimes used for any unused underground station or any unused station, whether or not trains pass through them. ''Las Provincias'' is a Spanish language regional newspaper published in Valencia, Spain. Founded in 1886 it is one of the oldest publications in the country. The 2015 Valencian regional election was held on Sunday, 24 May 2015, to elect the 9th Corts of the Valencian Community. All 99 seats in the Corts were up for election. The election was held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve other autonomous communities and local elections all throughout Spain. While incumbent President Alberto Fabra's People's Party (PP) remained as the party with the most votes, it lost 24 seats and 22 percentage points compared to its 2011 result, losing the absolute majority it had held in the Corts since 1999. This result was attributed to the party's management of the economic crisis, as well as the various corruption scandals that affected the PP throughout the entire 2011–2015 period, some of which were unveiled just weeks before the election. The City of Arts and Sciences ( vl, Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències ; es, Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias ) is a cultural and architectural complex in the city of Valencia, Spain. It is the most important modern tourist destination in the city of Valencia and one of the 12 Treasures of Spain. Metrovalencia
Metrovalencia is an urban rail system serving a large part of the metropolitan area of Valencia. The network is a modern amalgamation of former FEVE narrow gauge electric operated suburban railways. It is a large suburban network that crosses the city of Valencia, with all trains continuing out to the suburbs. It also has destinations on lines that make it more closely resemble commuter trains. The unique system combines light railway, metro and several tram operations north of the Túria riverbed park with line 4. Trains of lines 1, 3, 5 and 9 have automatic train operation (ATO) in 25.3 kilometers of underground system. Tram lines 4, 6, 8 and 10 are operated by modern trams.
