Lindsey Hermer-Bell
Lindsey Hermer-Bell is a Canadian production designer based in Toronto, Ontario. Designer career Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Lindsey Hermer-Bell moved to Canada in 1977. She received a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Toronto. She began her career as designer on the 1983 HBO drama ''Between Friends (1983 film), Between Friends''. Her production design credits include the feature film ''Shake Hands with the Devil (2007 film), Shake Hands with the Devil'' (2007), for which she received nominations for both a Genie Award and a Directors Guild of Canada award. Her credits for television include the meticulous construction of the brownstone house of Nero Wolfe for the A&E Network, A&E original film ''The Golden Spiders: A Nero Wolfe Mystery'' (2000) and the subsequent series, ''A Nero Wolfe Mystery'' (2001–2002). In film and television, the production designer is the individual responsible for the overall aesthetic of the story. The production design gives the viewers a sense of the time period, the plot location, and character actions and feelings. Working directly with the director, cinematographer, and producer, production designers have a key creative role in the creation of motion pictures and television. Joe Mantegna portrayed Robert B. Parker's detective " Spenser" in three TV films on the A&E cable network between 1999 and 2001. Production Robert B. Parker had a significant role in the development of the TV movies (all three films were adapted by Parker, with his wife co-authoring ''Walking Shadow'') as opposed to the earlier '' Spenser: For Hire''.
