Linda Lamb
Linda Lamb is an American singer and musician of European descent, who has worked with Vitalic and Nina Hagen; she is known for her underground hit "Hot Room". Career Linda Lamb was born in Woodstock, New York, United States. As a teenager, Lamb moved to Seattle and joined the punk scene and began singing in American bars and clubs while completing a B.A. in Animation. She also sang as a backup singer in a Motown group that was the opening act for artists such as Tina Turner, Etta James, Junior Walker, and James Brown. Linda then travelled around Europe, gaining session work before finally settling in New York in the early 1990s, where she worked with her husband in his fashion company, Demob, and opened a boutique called Smylonylon in New York's Soho. They also made mixed compilation tapes with Alex Goor and sold them in the store, under the titles Smylonylon and Tynynyny. Pascal Arbez-Nicolas (; born 18 May 1976), better known by his stage name Vitalic (), is a French electronic music producer. History His first singles were released in 1996 and 1997, but were confined to underground electronic music scene. However, he became good friends with techno producer The Hacker, whom he met in Le Rex Club, the "techno temple" of Laurent Garnier. The Hacker suggested that he should send his new tracks to DJ Hell, head of International DeeJay Gigolo Records in Munich. Pascal did so, and International DeeJay Gigolo Records released the well known ''Poney EP'' in 2001, which was a huge success shortly after its release. With the track "La Rock 01", Vitalic created a club anthem which was a hit in the summer of 2001. The track was also included on many compilation albums, even rock compilations. Margaret Sandbach
Margaret Sandbach (28 April 1812 – 23 June 1852) was an English poet and novelist. Life Born Margaret Roscoe in Liverpool on 28 April 1812, her parents were the merchant Edward Roscoe and his wife and second cousin, Margaret Lace, who was a botanical illustrator and author. She had two brothers, one of whom died in infancy, and the other of whom was Edward Henry Roscoe, with whom she was very close. Their paternal grandfather was the historian William Roscoe and her family were prominent members of Unitarian society in Liverpool. Margaret married Henry Robertson Sandbach on 4 May 1832. He was then living at Hafodunos, an estate in Denbighshire, North Wales, that had been bought two years previously by his father, the slave-owner, merchant and Mayor of Liverpool, Samuel Sandbach. Shakespears Sister is an alternative pop and rock musical duo based in the United Kingdom that was formed in 1988 by singer-songwriter Siobhan Fahey, a former member of Bananarama. Shakespears Sister was initially a solo act, but became a duo by 1989 with the addition of American musician Marcella Detroit. Together they released two top 10 albums and a string of top 40 hits, including the 1992 hit "Stay" which peaked at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart for eight consecutive weeks. Detroit was sacked from the band in 1993, leaving Fahey as the sole member again until she ended the project in 1996. After working under her own name for some years, Fahey revived the Shakespears Sister name in 2009. Siobhan Maire Fahey (; born 10 September 1958) is an Irish singer whose vocal range is a light contralto. She was a founding member of the group Bananarama, who have had ten top-10 hits including the US number one hit single "Venus". She later formed the Brit Award- and Ivor Novello Award-winning musical act Shakespears Sister, who had a UK number one hit with the 1992 single "Stay". Fahey joined the other original members of Bananarama for a 2017 UK tour, and, in 2018, a North America and Europe tour. Mark Baker (author)
Mark Baker is an architectural historian, and an author of several books on country houses, estates and their families. Baker has contributed to several television series and programmes. He became a Welsh Conservative Party councillor for Gele in May 2017. Early years and education Baker was educated at Rydal Penrhos School, Colwyn Bay. He later attended the University of Wales, Bangor, in 2003, from which graduated with a BA in history and archaeology in 2006. Baker's MA was taken at Cardiff University and focussed on the Gothic Revival in Wales. Baker then undertook PhD studies researching the development of Welsh Country Houses, during which he discovered the earliest known image of Hafod Uchtryd, Devil's Bridge. Hafodunos
Hafodunos Hall ( cy, Plasty Hafodunos) is a Gothic revival house located near the village of Llangernyw in Wales. Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, it was built between 1861 and 1866 for Henry Robertson Sandbach, replacing a house that had been built in 1674. The house, of Venetian-Gothic design, is considered Scott's second-most important country house after Kelham Hall, Nottinghamshire and arguably his most important Welsh building. Subject to a devastating fire in 2004, the ruins are being restored. The Hall is a Grade I listed building, with many of the buildings and structures in the grounds having their own listings.
