Lincoln Township is one of eleven townships in Atchison County, Missouri, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 378. Lincoln Township was established in 1871, and named after Abraham Lincoln, 16th President of the United States. List Of Counties In Missouri
There are 114 counties and one independent city in the U.S. State of Missouri. Following the Louisiana Purchase and the admittance of Louisiana into the United States in 1812, five counties were formed out of the Missouri Territory at the first general assembly: Cape Girardeau, New Madrid, Saint Charles, Saint Louis, and Ste. Genevieve. Most subsequent counties were apportioned from these five original counties. Atchison County, Missouri
Atchison County is the northwesternmost county in the U.S. state of Missouri. As of the 2020 census, the county had a population of 5,305. Its county seat is Rock Port. It was originally known as Allen County when it was detached from Holt County in 1843. The county was officially organized on February 14, 1845, and named for U.S. Senator David Rice Atchison from Missouri. Geography According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of , of which is land and (0.5%) is water. Atchison's western boundary for the most part is the Missouri River and Nebraska. An 1867 flood straightened a bend in the river north of Watson. Both Nebraska and Missouri claimed the 5,000 acre McKissick Island that extends almost two miles into Atchison County. The Supreme Court in 1904 decided that the land belongs to Nebraska. Westboro, Missouri
Westboro is a city in Lincoln Township, Atchison County, Missouri, United States. The population was 116 at the 2020 census. History Westboro was laid out in 1881. The name Westboro was selected by railroad officials. A post office has been in operation at Westboro since 1881. The Westboro R-IV school district served the children of Westboro from 1882 to 1995. Westboro High school closed in 1967 and the district began to send High school students to Tarkio. The following year Westboro began to send junior high students to Tarkio as well. The district maintained a K-6 program until 1995 when the district voted to be annexed by Tarkio due to financial issues. Notable people Merton F.
