Lily Cahill
Lily Cahill (July 17, 1888 – July 20, 1955) was an American stage and screen actress. Early life Lily Cahill was born July 17, 1888 in San Antonio, Texas. She was the granddaughter of Confederate Army Colonel John Jacob Myers. Career She began her career in 1910 at the age of 15 playing supporting roles in several silent films directed by D.W. Griffith. In 1911 she was given leading parts in ''A Victim of Circumstances'' and ''The Failure''. In 1912 Cahill abandoned her movie career for the stage, making her Broadway theatre, Broadway debut in the short-lived play ''The Road to Arcady'' by Edith Sessions Tupper. She remained highly active in the New York theatre scene up through 1941. Lockhart, Texas
Lockhart is a city and the county seat of Caldwell County, Texas, United States. According to the 2020 United States census, 2020 census, its population was 14,379. History The city of Lockhart is named after Byrd Lockhart, an assistant surveyor of Green DeWitt and reportedly the first Anglo to set foot in Caldwell County. Lockhart was the site of a victory of the Texans over the Comanche, at the Battle of Plum Creek in 1840. Lockhart was originally called "Plum Creek", but the name was later changed to Lockhart. The town's economic growth began with the arrival of the railroad in the late 19th century, when the town became a regional shipping center for local cotton. Following the arrival of the railroad, immigrants arrived in Lockhart and opened various businesses. Lockhart has several claims to fame. ''First Lady'' is a play by George S. Kaufman and Katharine Dayton. It premiered on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre on November 26, 1935, closing in June 1936 after 246 performances. ''The Philco Television Playhouse'' is an American television anthology series that was broadcast live on NBC from 1948 to 1955. Produced by Fred Coe, the series was sponsored by Philco. Russel Crouse
Russel Crouse (20 February 1893 – 3 April 1966) was an American playwright and librettist, best known for his work in the Broadway theatre, Broadway writing partnership of Lindsay and Crouse. Life and career Born in Findlay, Ohio, Crouse was the son of Sarah (née Schumacher) and Hiram Powers Crouse, a newspaperman. He began his Broadway career in 1928 as an actor in the play ''Gentlemen of the Press,'' in which he played Bellflower. By 1931, however, he had turned his attention to writing, penning the book for the musical ''The Gang's All Here,'' collaborating with Frank McCoy, Morrie Ryskind and Oscar Hammerstein II. His first work with his long-time partner Howard Lindsay came in 1934, when the two men revised the P. G. Wodehouse/Guy Bolton book for the Cole Porter musical ''Anything Goes.''
