Mozarteum International Foundation
The International Mozarteum Foundation (Internationale Stiftung Mozarteum) was founded in 1880 in Salzburg with its primary concern being the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Closely affiliated with the Mozarteum University Salzburg, it was preceded by the Cathedral Music Association and Mozarteum of 1841. It collects Mozart memorabilia, maintains the Mozart library (the Bibliotheca Mozartiana), the Mozart birthplace and other Salzburg locations linked with Mozart. Rotraud Hansmann
Rotraud Hansmann (born 1 March 1940) is an Austrian soprano in opera and concert. She was a singer in the recordings by Nikolaus Harnoncourt which began historically informed performances, such as Monteverdi's operas and works by Johann Sebastian Bach. She was a teacher at the University of Music and Performing Arts, Vienna. Career Born in Graz, Hansmann studied voice at the Graz Conservatory, also the piano, violin and guitar. She studied further in Amsterdam. She made her debut in 1960 at the Graz Opera as a Boy in Mozart's ''Die Zauberflöte''. In 1964 she joined the Deutsche Oper am Rhein. Hansmann recorded Monteverdi's Vespro della Beata Vergine with the Monteverdi-Chor, conducted by Jürgen Jürgens. She also recorded Bach cantatas, sacred music by Mozart and Mendelssohn's ''Lobgesang''. Gustav Kuhn (born 28 August 1945) is an Austrian conductor and manager, also a composer, and a teacher and author. During his international conducting career, he founded the later "Accademia di Montegral" for young musicians and singers in 1987, held the artistic directorship of the , which he founded, for over 20 years and was artistic director of the international singing competition "Neue Stimmen" of the Bertelsmann Foundation since the competition was founded in 1987. Thomas Stumpf is a classical pianist in the Boston area. He is also a conductor, composer, author, and teacher. Biography Thomas Stumpf received his degrees in piano performance from the Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria, and the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. He was awarded the Bösendorfer Prize and the Lilli Lehmann Medal. Lilli Lehmann
Lilli Lehmann, born Elisabeth Maria Lehmann, later Elisabeth Maria Lehmann-Kalisch (24 November 1848 – 17 May 1929) was a German operatic soprano. She was also a voice teacher. Biography The future opera star's father, Karl-August Lehmann, was a singer (Heldentenor) while her mother, Maria Theresia Löw (1809–1885), was a soprano. Her younger sister, Marie, also went on to become an operatic soprano. Her first lessons were from her mother, who had been a prima donna under Spohr at the Cassel opera. After singing small parts on the stage, for example in Mozart's ''Magic Flute'' at Prague in 1866, and studies under Heinrich Laube in Leipzig, Lehmann made her proper debut in 1870 in Berlin as a light soprano in Meyerbeer's ''Das Feldlager in Schlesien''.
