Lillebil Ibsen
Lillebil Ibsen (née Sofie Parelius Monrad Krohn) (6 August 1899 – 12 August 1989) was a Norwegian dancer and actress. Personal life Lillebil was born in Kristiania, as the daughter of engineer Georg Monrad Krohn and actress Gyda Martha Kristine Andersen (later Gyda Christensen). She married pilot and film director Tancred Ibsen on 25 August 1919. Their son Tancred Ibsen Jr., born in 1921, was a Norwegian diplomat. Career Lillebil Ibsen took ballet lessons at an early age with her mother, who was a professional choreographer and ballet instructor. She made her début as a dancer at Nationaltheatret in 1911, in the ballet pantomime ''Prinsessen på erten'', an adaptation of the story ''The Princess and the Pea'' by Hans Christian Andersen. She then studied ballet with Hans Beck in Copenhagen, and later with Russian choreographer Mikhail Fokine. Tancred Ibsen
Tancred Ibsen (11 July 1893 – 4 December 1978) was a Norwegian military officer, aviator, film director and screenwriter. Background Ibsen was the son of Sigurd Ibsen and Bergljot Bjørnson. He was the grandson of both Henrik Ibsen and Nobel laureate Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. He married dancer and actress Lillebil Ibsen in 1919, and remained married to her until his death in 1978. His son Tancred Ibsen, Jr. (1921–2015) was a Norwegian diplomat. Aviation career In 1917, Tancred Ibsen started pilot training at Kjeller Airport and began his career in the Norwegian Army Air Service. He started the first civilian active airplane company, ''A/S Aero'' in 1920, financed by his uncle, businessman Einar Bjørnson, and two shipowners. Gyda Christensen
Gyda Martha Kristine Christensen (née Andersen; 21 May 1872 – 20 August 1964) was a Norwegian actress, dancer, choreographer and managing director. Biography Christensen was born in Kristiania (now Oslo), Norway. She was the only child of Ole Andersen and Cathrine Saabye. She received music and singing lessons during adolescence. She was part of the ensemble at Christiania Theatre from 1894 to 1899 and again from 1920 to 1928, and at Nationaltheatret from 1899 to 1919. She played a number of major roles, most often in the light genre. She was engaged as dance and artistic director at Det Nye Teater from 1928 to 1945. From 1936 to 1939 she was the artistic director at Nationaltheatret. In 1909 she became the managing director for the Nationaltheatret ballet school. ''Op med hodet!'' (literally, Up with Your Head!, or Cheer Up!) is a Norwegian comedy film from 1934. It was directed by Tancred Ibsen and produced by Erling Bergendahl. The actors appearing in the film include Lillebil Ibsen, Lalla Carlsen, and Leif Juster. The film was very experimental for its time, and it included special effects, multiple exposures, reverse motion, and color sequences. The title of the film is a reference to the opening line of a poem in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's novel ''En glad Gut'' (A Happy Boy): "Løft ditt hode, du raske gutt!" Arne Mattsson (2 December 1919 – 28 June 1995) was a Swedish film director. Biography Born in Uppsala, the early films of Mattsson were mostly comedies. His biggest success was '' Hon dansade en sommar'' (1951, aka. ''One Summer of Happiness''), which earned him the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival and a nomination for the Grand Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1952. It caused some controversy at the time because it contained nudity.
