Norman Conquest
The Norman Conquest (or the Conquest) was the 11th-century invasion and occupation of England by an army made up of thousands of Norman, Breton, Flemish, and French troops, all led by the Duke of Normandy, later styled William the Conqueror. The Huguenots ( , also , ) were a religious group of French Protestants who held to the Reformed, or Calvinist, tradition of Protestantism. Bill Lillard
William Beverly Lillard (January 10, 1918 – June 9, 2009) was an American professional baseball player. A shortstop, the native of Goleta, California, was listed at tall and and threw and batted right-handed. His older brother, Gene, also played in the Majors. Bill Lillard started his career in the minors in 1938 with the San Francisco Seals and after hitting .335 that season, moved up to Major League Baseball playing shortstop from through for the Philadelphia Athletics of the American League. In a two-season Major League career, Lillard was a .244 hitter (55-for-206) with one home run and 22 RBI in 80 games, including 30 runs, nine doubles, two triples, and a .339 on-base percentage. Charles "Red" Lillard (February 26, 1944 – March 27, 1997) was an American-born poet and historian who spent much of his adult life in British Columbia and became a Canadian citizen in 1967. Damian Lamonte Ollie Lillard Sr. (born July 15, 1990) is an American professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Robert Eugene Lillard (November 12, 1913 – April 12, 1991) was an American professional baseball player. Primarily a pitcher in Major League Baseball (MLB), he began his baseball career as an infielder and was a prodigious minor league batsman, slugging over 300 career home runs, including 56 round-trippers as a member of the 1935 Los Angeles Angels of the Pacific Coast League. The older brother of Bill Lillard, a former Major League shortstop, Gene Lillard was born in Santa Barbara, California. He threw and batted right-handed, stood tall and weighed . Joe Lillard
Joseph Johnny Lillard Jr. (June 15, 1905 – September 18, 1978) was an American football, baseball, and basketball player. From 1932 to 1933, he was a running back for the National Football League's (NFL) Chicago Cardinals. Lillard was the last African-American, along with Ray Kemp, to play in the NFL until 1946, when Kenny Washington and Woody Strode joined the Los Angeles Rams. Lillard received the nickname "The Midnight Express" by the media. In 1933, he was responsible for almost half of the Cardinals' points. William Harvey Lillard
William Harvey Lillard (1856 – September 7, 1925) was the first chiropractic patient. Biography Harvey Lillard was an African-American janitor who worked in the Ryan Building in Brady Street, Davenport, Iowa. He was the first person to be treated with the technique known as chiropractic by D.D. Palmer. Lillard maintained the corner building where Palmer had his office on the 4th floor. In September 1895 he told Palmer that he had lost most of his hearing and was almost completely deaf. Lillard added that he "could not hear the racket of a wagon on the street or the ticking of a watch." When asked how he had become deaf he replied that, 17 years before, while bent over in a cramped, stooping position he "heard something "pop" in his spine" and immediately lost most of his hearing.
