Lil Rodríguez
Lil del Valle Rodríguez (born 20 January 1952) is a Venezuelan journalist. Her most recent position is president of the board of directors of Caracas-based television station TVes ''(Televisora Venezolana Social),'' which began its broadcasting on 27 May 2007, following the controversial non-renewal of the terrestrial broadcast licence of the station which had previously used the frequency. Lil Rodríguez was born in Caracas during the presidency of Marcos Pérez Jiménez, against whose government her mother was an activist. A part of her childhood was spent in her mother's home town of Cumaná, Estado Sucre, before she returned to the capital to study, first, psychology at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and, subsequently, journalism at the Universidad del Zulia in Estado Zulia. Her speciality is in cultural journalism, and she is an expert in Latin American music, particularly the popular folk music of the Caribbean and Venezuela. The Biblioteca Nacional de Venezuela (in English: ''National Library of Venezuela''), located in Caracas, is the legal deposit and copyright for Venezuela. It was established on July 13, 1833, by decree of General José Antonio Páez. Diego Bautista Urbaneja, a Minister of Foreign Affairs, was designated as the first director. The current headquarters of the library was designed by architect Tomás Sanabria from 1981 to 1989 in the style of Brutalist architecture, featuring a range of design elements and distinctive construction techniques. Radio Rebelde (English: Rebel Radio) is a Cuban Spanish-language radio station. It broadcasts 24 hours a day with a varied program of national and international music hits of the moment, news reports and live sport events. The station was set up in 1958 by Che Guevara in the Sierra Maestra region of eastern Cuba, and was designed to broadcast the aims of the 26th of July Movement led by Fidel Castro.
