''Like Rabid Dogs'' ( it, Come cani arrabbiati) is a 1976 Italian crime-thriller film written and directed by Mario Imperoli. It is loosely inspired by the Circeo Massacre, in which three young men abducted, and then raped and tortured, two young women over a two-day period. Plot Tony is the young member of an upper class Roman family; he lives a hectic double life, and under the guise of good student, he likes to persecute and kill prostitutes in the company of a couple of friends. Mario Imperoli (24 June 1931 - 24 December 1977) was an Italian director, producer, screenwriter and journalist. Born in Rome, Imperoli started his career as a journalist for several magazines and newspapers. He entered the cinema industry in 1970, as the screenwriter and producer of the Vittorio De Sisti's giallo ''L'interrogatorio''. He later directed eight films, often characterized by erotic themes. Biography Born in Rome, Paola Senatore worked in Italian genre films during the 1970s, including poliziotteschi, commedia sexy all'italiana and giallo films. Paolo Carlini (6 January 1922 – 3 November 1979) was an Italian stage, television and film actor. He appeared in 45 films between 1940 and 1979. He is perhaps best-known to international audiences for his supporting role as the hairdresser Mario in ''Roman Holiday'' (1953) alongside Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. Gloria Piedimonte (27 May 1955 – 6 January 2022), also known as La Guapa, was an Italian singer, actress, dancer, and television personality. Life and career Piedimonte was born in Mantua on 27 May 1955. After some minor film roles Piedimonte gained some popularity in 1978 appearing in the music show ''Discoring'', in which she danced to the tune of the theme song "Baila Guapa", performed by Bus Connection. In the same year she released two singles, the disco music song "Uno" and the space music song "Ping Pong Space". The following year she starred in her only film as lead actress, ''Baila Guapa''. After appearances in other films and in photonovelas, she brought out one more single in 1983, "Ma che bella serata". Poliziotteschi (; singular ''poliziottesco'') constitute a subgenre of crime and action films that emerged in Italy in the late 1960s and reached the height of their popularity in the 1970s.
