Liga IV Sălaj
Liga IV Sălaj is the regional Liga IV football division for clubs in Sălaj County, România, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. It is organized by the County Football Association (Asociația Județeană de Fotbal) and is competed amongst 11 teams, the winner is promoted to Liga III after a promotion play-off. Also, the number of relegated team from the Liga IV – Sălaj is variable and depends on the number of teams relegated from the Liga III. History In 1968, along with the territorial reorganization of the country, but also due to the large number of requests, Romanian Football Federation, FRF proposes a competitive system in which each county has its own football championship, which will activate the former teams in the regional championship as well as the racing and town championship teams from the previous edition. The 2007–08 Liga IV was the 66th season of the Liga IV, the fourth tier of the Romanian football league system. The champions of each county association play against one from a neighboring county in a play-off match played on a neutral venue. The winners of the play-off matches promoted to Liga III. FC Zalău
Fotbal Club Zalău was a Romanian football team from Zalău, Sălaj County, founded in 2005 and dissolved in 2017 after encountered financial problems. History FC Zalău was founded in the summer of 2005, in order to continue Zalău's football legacy after the dissolution of Armătura Zalău. The founder and owner of the new team was Ioan Morar, a local businessman, as well as a former business partner of Liviu Olar Pop, the main sponsor of Armătura Zalău. The club was enrolled in the Liga IV – Sălaj County (4th tier). In their first season, under the guidance of Marius Pașca, Zălăuanii won the County Championship, but lost the promotion play-off against Universitatea 1919 Cluj-Napoca, the winner of Divizia D – Cluj County, 0–1 in a match played on neutral ground at the Municipal Stadium in Oradea.
