Lidiia Hunko
Lidiia Hunko ( uk, Гунько Лідія Олександрівна; born August 10, 1993, in Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian bobsledder. She is the first Ukrainian female bobsledder who received a quota place for the Winter Olympics. Career Hunko started her sporting career as a strongwomen. She became a World Champion in deadlift in 2016. The next year, she won "Arnold Classic" in her category. Hunko took up bobsleigh in 2018, and one year later she started to compete internationally. Her first international start took place on November 20, 2019, in Lillehammer Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track, Lillehammer, Norway. On December 20, 2020, she won together with Iryna Lishchynska (bobsledder), Iryna Lishchynska a bronze medal at the European Cup stage in Sigulda bobsleigh, luge, and skeleton track, Sigulda which became the first-ever medal in the history of Ukrainian bobsleigh. Ivano-Frankivsk ( uk, Іва́но-Франкі́вськ, translit=Iváno-Frankívśk ), formerly Stanyslaviv ( pl, Stanisławów ; german: Stanislau), is a city located in Western Ukraine. Bobsleigh At The 2022 Winter Olympics
Bobsleigh at the 2022 Winter Olympics has been held at the Xiaohaituo Bobsleigh and Luge Track which is one of the Yanqing cluster venues. A total of four bobsleigh events were held, between 4 and 20 February 2022. In July 2018, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) officially added the women's monobob event to the program, increasing the total number of events to four. The IOC also transferred six quotas from the men's events to the women's. The quota limit of 170 athletes remained the same from the 2018 Winter Olympics. A total of four events have been contested, two each for men and women. Qualification A maximum of 170 quota spots will be available to athletes to compete at the games (124 men and 46 women). International Bobsleigh And Skeleton Federation
The International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF), originally known by the French name ''Fédération Internationale de Bobsleigh et de Tobogganing'' (FIBT), is the international sports federation for bobsleigh and skeleton. It acts as an umbrella organization for 14 national bobsleigh and skeleton associations . It was founded on 23 November 1923 by the delegates of Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Canada, and the United States at the meeting of their first International Congress in Paris, France. In June 2015, it announced a name change from FIBT to IBSF. The federation's headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland.
