Lewis United F.C.
Lewis United Junior Football Club was a Scottish football club from the city of Aberdeen. The club folded in May 2018 after seventy years as members of the Scottish Junior Football Association. Founded in 1942 as a Juvenile side associated with the John Lewis & Sons shipbuilders in Aberdeen, United joined the semi-professional Junior ranks in 1947. The club were based at the Chris Anderson Stadium (formerly Linksfield Stadium) which was rebuilt between 2007 and 2009 as part of the Aberdeen Sports Village complex. For the 2007–08 season the club played all matches away from home and the following season, shared New Advocates Park with East End. Despite not having a home ground for these two seasons, the club were allowed to gain promotion to the North Superleague in 2008. At the end of the 2017–18 season, in which they finished 10th out of 11 in the SJFA North First Division (East), the club announced they had folded due to a lack of committee members and sponsorship. The North Junior Football League, also known as the ''North-East Junior League'', was a football league competition operated in northern Scotland (but anchored around the city of Aberdeen) under the Scottish Junior Football Association which operated as the top league in the territory from 1968 until 2001 when a new regional setup was established – although this was very similar to the previous system. Derek Young
Derek Young (born 27 May 1980) is a Scottish ex-professional association football midfielder. Young started his career alongside his brother Darren at Aberdeen before leaving with him in 2003 to join Dunfermline Athletic. Spells at St Johnstone and Partick Thistle followed before returning to Aberdeen for another four years. He spent a short spell in Iceland with Grindavík before returning to Scotland with Morton in 2011. In summer 2012 he joined Queen of the South with whom he won a league and cup double. Hugh Scott Robertson (born 19 March 1975 in Newcastle is a Scottish former professional footballer.) Playing career Aberdeen Robertson started his career playing in the youth team for Aberdeen. He was loaned out to junior football team, Lewis United for a season to continue his apprenticeship. Aberdeen were satisfied enough with his progress to offer him another contract which he signed in 1993. While at Aberdeen, Shuggy made 22 Premier appearances, scoring twice. Willie Falconer
William Henry Falconer (born 5 April 1966 in Aberdeen) is a Scottish former professional footballer, who played for a string of Scottish and English clubs from 1982 to 2003. He could play in virtually any position on the pitch, but was most commonly used as a striker. Career Falconer began his career playing for his home town club, Aberdeen, in 1982, and had an initial loan spell at Junior team Lewis United. During his six years at Pittodrie Stadium, he made 77 league appearances and scored 13 goals. Never more than a squad member other than in his final season, he did play enough games to earn a 1984–85 Scottish Premier Division winner's medal, and also played and scored in the 1987 Scottish League Cup Final (lost on penalties).
