Founded by Mike Lewis, Lewis Recordings is an underground record label that currently has eight artists signed to it. It is primarily a Hip Hop/Rap label, and arguably its biggest artist is Edan, who has released two full-length albums to date under the label. It was founded in Belsize Park, north London, England, and is now based in Clerkenwell, central London. Julian Fane (musician)
Julian Fane is an electronic producer, vocalist and DJ based in New York. He is originally from Vancouver, British Columbia where he came to the attention of the Planet Mu imprint. Two albums Special Forces (2004) and Our New Quarters (2007) followed but for the past few years he's recorded primarily for film and TV. His ethereal perspective evokes the sounds of Sigur Rós and The Flaming Lips whilst his musical range compares to that of Boards Of Canada and Mercury Rev, a true reflection of his skills behind the big screen. In 2013 Julian signed with Lewis Recordings. His release ''Racer'' is a nine-track album with hints of the aforementioned Sigur Rós and Boards Of Canada, Kraftwerk and Jai Paul. Steve Dixon better known by his stage name Stig of the Dump, is an English rapper from Newcastle upon Tyne, who built a reputation as a battle rapper in London. He lived in Spain for many years but has now returned to the United Kingdom. Kerogen is solid, insoluble organic matter in sedimentary rocks. It consists of a variety of organic materials, including dead plants, algae, and other microorganisms, that have been compressed and heated by geological processes. Altogether kerogen is estimated to contain 1016 tons of carbon. This makes it the most abundant source of organic compounds on earth, exceeding the total organic content of living matter 10,000-fold. The type of kerogen present in a particular rock formation depends the type of organic material that was originally present. Kerogen can be classified by these origins: lacustrine (e.g., algal), marine (e.g., planktonic), and terrestrial (e.g., pollen and spores).
