Lew Rywin
Lew Rywin (born 10 November 1945 in a Nizhnyeye Alkeyevo, USSR) is a Polish film producer associated with Heritage Films (est. 1991). He has also been a member of the Polish Radio and TV committee and worked in an agency, Poltel, producing for Polish state-run TV. He participated in producing such films as Steven Spielberg's ''Schindler's List'', Roman Polański's '' The Pianist'', Jan Jakub Kolski's ''Pornografia'' and Marek Brodzki's '' The Hexer'', based on ''The Witcher'' books by Andrzej Sapkowski. His last film was never produced. It was about the life of Holocaust survivor Herman Rosenblat (with producers Harris Salomon and Abi Sirokh). The film was titled ''Love is a Survivor'' and was later changed to ''The Flower of the Fence''. Altogether, he has served in a producer role in the making of 27 movies. Alkeyevsky District
Alkeyevsky District (russian: Альке́евский райо́н; tt-Cyrl, Әлки районы) is a territorial administrative unit and municipal district of the Republic of Tatarstan located within the Russian Federation. The total land area of the Alkeyevsky District is 1726,8 km2. The district includes 70 urban and 21 rural settlements. The administrative center is the village of Bazarnye Mataki. As of 2020, people resided in the district. Geography The Alkeyevsky District is located in the south the republic of Tatarstan. It borders the Samara and Ulyanovsk Oblasts as well as the Spassky, Alekseevsky and Nurlatsky districts of Tatarstan. Forested areas remain well preserved in the northern part of the district. The Witcher
''The Witcher'' ( pl, Wiedźmin ) is a series of six fantasy novels and 15 short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The series revolves around the eponymous "witcher", Geralt of Rivia. In Sapkowski's works, "witchers" are beast hunters who develop supernatural abilities at a young age to battle wild beasts and monsters. ''The Witcher'' began with a titular 1986 short story that Sapkowski entered into a competition held by ''Fantastyka'' magazine, marking his debut as an author. Due to reader demand, Sapkowski wrote 14 more stories before starting a series of novels in 1994. Known as ''The Witcher Saga'', he wrote one book a year until the fifth and final installment in 1999. A standalone prequel novel, ''Season of Storms'', was published in 2013. Rywin Affair
The Rywin affair ( pl, afera Rywina) was a corruption scandal in Poland, which began in late 2002 while the post-communist government of the SLD (Democratic Left Alliance) was in power. It is named after Polish film producer Lew Rywin, who was a key figure. Chain of events On 22 July 2002, Lew Rywin called at the office of Adam Michnik, editor of Poland's largest daily newspaper, ''Gazeta Wyborcza''. Herman A. Rosenblat ( 1929 – February 5, 2015) was a Polish-born American author, known for writing a fictitious Holocaust memoir titled ''Angel at the Fence'',Rosenblat, Herman (2009) ''Angel at the Fence'' Berkley Hardcover, purporting to tell the true story of a girl who passed him food through the barbed-wire fence at the Schlieben sub-camp of the Buchenwald concentration camp in World War II. The book was planned to be published in 2009 by Berkley Books, but was cancelled after it turned out that many elements of his memoir were fabricated and some were contrary to verifiable historical facts. Rosenblat later admitted to lying on purpose with the intention of bringing joy.
