Letterbox (filming)
Letterboxing is the practice of transferring film shot in a widescreen aspect ratio to standard-width video formats while preserving the film's original aspect ratio. The resulting videographic image has mattes (black bars) above and below it; these mattes are part of each frame of the video signal. LBX and LTBX are identifying abbreviations for films and images thus formatted. Etymology The term refers to the shape of a letter box, a slot in a wall or door through which mail is delivered, being rectangular and wider than it is high. Early home video use The first use of letterbox in consumer video appeared with the RCA Capacitance Electronic Disc (CED) videodisc format. Initially, letterboxing was limited to several key sequences of a film such as opening and closing credits, but was later used for entire films. The first fully letterboxed CED release was ''Amarcord'' in 1984, and several others followed including '' The Long Goodbye'', ''Monty Python and the Holy Grai ...

Image Cropping 235x1
An image is a visual representation of something. It can be two-dimensional, three-dimensional, or somehow otherwise feed into the visual system to convey information. An image can be an artifact, such as a photograph or other two-dimensional picture, that resembles a subject. In the context of signal processing, an image is a distributed amplitude of color(s). In optics, the term “image” may refer specifically to a 2D image. An image does not have to use the entire visual system to be a visual representation. A popular example of this is of a greyscale image, which uses the visual system's sensitivity to brightness across all wavelengths, without taking into account different colors. A black and white visual representation of something is still an image, even though it does not make full use of the visual system's capabilities. Images are typically still, but in some cases can be moving or animated. Characteristics Images may be two or three-dimensional, such as a pho ...

Axel F
"Axel F" is the electronic instrumental theme from the 1984 film ''Beverly Hills Cop'' performed by Harold Faltermeyer. It was an international number one hit in 1985. Background The title comes from the main character's name in the film, Axel Foley (played by Eddie Murphy). It is composed in the key of F minor. Faltermeyer recorded the song using five instruments: a Roland Jupiter-8 provided the distinctive "supersaw" lead, a Moog modular synthesizer 15 provided the bass, a Roland JX-3P provided chord stab brasses, a Yamaha DX7 was used for the marimba sound, and a LinnDrum was used for drum programming. According to Faltermeyer, the initial reaction to his premiere presentation of the cues to the film's producers and director did not result in an immediate approval; it was not until director Martin Brest voiced his approval that the producers showed enthusiasm. In addition to the ''Beverly Hills Cop'' soundtrack, the song also appears on Faltermeyer's 1988 album ''Harol ...

"Never Gonna Stop (The Red, Red Kroovy)" is a promotional single taken from Rob Zombie's second album '' The Sinister Urge''. The song can also be found on Zombie's '' Past, Present & Future'' and ''The Best of Rob Zombie''. The phrase "red red kroovy" is used by Alex DeLarge in the book and means "red red blood" ("krov'", means "blood" in Russian). (Anthony Burgess’ Nadsat glossary in the novel shows the spelling to be “krovvy”, not kroovy: (''krovvy:'' _''krovy_.html" ;"title="ussian > ''krovy ">ussian > ''krovy blood)) The lyrics include the phrases "See heaven, flash, a horrorshow..." and "...take me to the home..." which are also both references to the book. The audio sample "Use my body to keep you alive" is from the 1969 horror film '' The Curious Dr. Humpp''. ...

Zebrahead
Zebrahead is an American rap-punk band from La Habra, California. Formed in 1996, the band has released thirteen studio albums to date. History 1996–2001: Formation and early years Zebrahead was formed in La Habra, California in summer 1996 by guitarist Greg Bergdorf and drummer Ed Udhus, (both formerly of the band 409), bassist Ben Osmundson (formerly of 3-Ply) and singer/rhythm guitarist Justin Mauriello (formerly of Once There).
